(Aight, fine! I shall continue this one! That new story I just thought of and was in the middle of writing will just have to wait! 😂)

---------------

Previously:

"..Wh, what do you mean..?"

"I feel like I am still on fire, both inside and out... always ablaze." (Lol cringe)

"Okay, I know that sounds terrible, but, how?"

"I won't tell you!.. At least, not unless you finally tell me what is wrong with your right arm."

"......Fine... I'll share..."

---------------

Both of us sat on a large rock, half way facing each other, our backs facing the yellowish green plants, eyes setting on the now distant mass of boulders that was Blood Rock.

"I mean- it really isn't much..." He tried to chuckle, left arm reaching for his right arm, and with a single unhooking motion completely taking it off.

You gasp as a fake replica of this terrifying man's arm drops uselessly onto the floor. It is melded poorly together with whatever scraps he could find, and painted over with mud to not draw attention to the metallic material. It was hard to believe. You quickly switch your sight back onto the man's shoulder, now bearing no arm beneath the grey cloth, confirming it was indeed not there.

"Oh my." Your mouth can't help but gape at such an absurd sight. "What on earth happened?"

"I uh... I lost it." Herobrine answered plainly, looking you directly in the eyes, this time as if knowing he was being blunt.

"Well I can see that!" You squeal, referring to the mass of metal on the floor. Herobrine promptly picked the item up, once again attaching it to whatever was underneath that cape of his. "But how did you lose it?!"

"Okay, it was kind of... Hhhh..." The man placed his left hand over his forehead, trying to think. "It was nearing the end of the war..."

He began. "Veraliel had already fallen; my people were scattered; I was the only one left. I had to watch as my men fell left and right, and, pretty soon, I was cornered. Against these very rocks, the war was over... They thought I had died. Getting crushed by a mountain usually does that to you..but..I was alive. My arm was so badly injured and infected, I had to cut it off after a while. It was...not a pretty sight....

I had always thought war would be grand. That whether you won or lost, you would still be a hero in the eyes of your people!.. However, I quickly found out, as I recovered slowly among the dead bodies of my own soldiers..that I was a failure....

Eventually, it was found out that I had somehow survived. For you, I bet you saw this place as nothing but a trashcan for your people...but, for me, it was my prison. Any time I tried to escape, an entire army was sent my way, forcing me to retreat back to this cave. Every time I attempted to leave this wretched place, I was only met with more violence. Until, finally, after a few years of this off and on.. I gave up. I was a failure of a king anyways... Best I die where it all came to an end.. rather than return a broken king... I had a few peaceful years. Ones I spent mostly trying crafting pottery; saving my energy in case I needed it for anything.

But, then, the armies suddenly returned.. even though I hadn't attempted to escape in years... I should have noticed something was different about these people. I should have thought twice when I saw the young faces, the men and women alike, the torn clothing, and even some of the same battle cries my people used to cheer...but, I didn't. It wasn't until I faced you, who had the courage to shout, call me out, make me realize I was killing my own people.. that I realized I had dropped to a new low.. I thank you, (Y/n), for doing that...for I know I would have just kept it up until all my people were dead. Now, at least..I can save whoever remains."

"What? Really? How?!" Herobrine just rose his hand towards you, asking for a moment of silence, thinking over his story. But in was more interested to see if he possibly had a plan.

"...Hhhh, yes, I do have an idea in mind. If I stay at Blood Rock and wait for the next wave of soldiers, instead of fighting them, I can hopefully persuade them that I am on their side, and quickly turn them into an army we can use to fight back.

"Well, I can imagine both of those things would be hard to do, since 1, from very young we were all lead to believe you were a heartless monster, wishing to do nothing but kill us, and 2, one already beaten army against an entire empire will never work." You lay out.

"I realize the difficulty of it all, but what other choice do we have? What other choice do I have? You can go free if you wish. That is fine with me; but, those are my people. I can't just leave them to be slaughtered. And, we're not going fight the entire empire.. We are just going to do what we can to save as many as we can, and then flee to a far land. I just want to give the remaining Veralians a chance to live freely again... I.. would also like to know if you would be willing to join me. I know..you are right here, on the edge of freedom, but, would you be willing to help me free the rest..?"

You sit there for a moment, thinking over it all for a moment. The urge to get up and finally run to freedom is so strong, but...

You stick your arm out to the Lord of darkness, offering him a handshake. He grasps yours firmly, a small smile rising on his face. "They are my people too. I would die for them any day." You say, smiling back. "Plus, I likely wouldn't be able to enjoy my freedom for very long when the led poisoning finally sets in." You add, as if it were nothing.
