Chapter 4:

I put the noodles and meatball filled sauce on the table, with the milk and plates. Byran came in the dining room with candles. I mean A LOT of candels. He lit them and we ate in the candle lit room, our gourmey meal. He asked, "How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine," I hesitated. " You mean about my mom, right?"

"Yeah, I ment your mom."

"I'm fine. Just. . . shocked. I think."I laughed, he still had sauce on his nose. He looked like Rudolph.

"What?" He looked confused.

I thouched my nose and he did the same to his. Then he turned pink. I've never seen him bluch before. I giggled, and got up to put my dishes away. Byran did the same, but then he put his hand on my back and randomly started to dance. I laughed and so did he. "Byran," I said.

"Yes, Hayden."

"I feel so weird dancing randomly in the middle of the kitchen."

"So," he said spining me around, "lets be weird together. . . It's never fun to be weird without somebody with you."

*3 Weeks Later*

Byran and I were laying on the couch of my living room on my floor. It was his birthday, and it wook me weeks to get him his present. I sat up and went to my bedroom. Byran, like he was, followed me. he layed on my bed.

I had a long skinny box, with his present under my pillow. I layed next to him and put my hand under the pillow. He asked, "What in gods name are you doing?"

"Well," I stated taking out the box, "I know it's  your birthday today. and I go you a present, but. . ."

"But what?"

I got up and went to the door that led to my hockey Rink." "You're going to have to catch me first!" I yelled.

I started running withhim right behind me. I ran on the ice almost falling and Byran ran into me. We both fell him on top of me. He laughed and said, "Got ya!"

His breathe was so sweet. "Can I have my present now?"

Giving in, I gave him the package. he opened it and his eyes widened. "You got me Northwood Viper's tickets." It wasn't a question.

I nodded my head yes. He kissed my lips and I smiled. "Did you know we've been together one month?" he asked me.

"Yes, Why?" I can't believe he remembered.

"I got you something." He took something out of his sweatshirt pocket. It was a small box. Like you would hold a braclet or necklace.

He opened the little black box and it rvealed a neclace. It looked kind of old, worn down. It was an old key, it  wasn't like the keys today. I t was more like an old fashion, elegant one.

"It was from my lod house back in San Fransico."He looked blankly at the key. "I wanted you to have ti because you came into my life, like a closed door wiating to be opend. There's more to figure out but I've got time. Hayden, you've flipped my life upside down, in just a month. My grades have gotten better, I've gotten better at goalie, my brother and I are getting along. You make me see the better in me. In anybody actually. And I love. . . the tickets you gave me. Thank you."

I gave him a hug and he kissed the top of my head. I could feel him smiling. "What are you smiling about?"

"It's jsut I never thought you'd go for a guy like me. I thought you'd be with my brother or someone else, but you picked me. That's what's makeing me smile."

I looked at him and his eyes were filled with sincerity. Thats when I let my guard down. I knew my heart was going to be broken but i chose not to care. I forgot about it when Byran's lips met mine.
