Zen,Kia and Iven had awoken to the pounding sound of sirens again. The daring ring of Police Trucks passing near the underground bunker giving Iven such a jump-scare Zen and Kia almost started laughing. They couldn't, of course, due to the noise and attention it could attract. Bits of sparse dust fell from the ceiling as the vehicles went right over the three. It wasn't the first time this had happened, and it wouldn't be the last. Kia's heart was beating out of her chest with anxiety. Iven was having a panic attack and began to pick at the delicate skin around his nails, near his cuticles. Zen cupped his hand over Ivens' to tell him it's ok and make him stop. The sounds died down soon enough.
With anger, Kia stood. "We can't have this anymore," She said with annoyance. "Camps have been moving closer and closer everyday and we're out of options!"
"W-well what are we supposed to do?" stuttered Iven.
"Yeah, we can't exactly just run out, surrounded by drones and officers." Zen interrupted slightly.
Kia bit her lip and looked across the room to a wall. She had stopped tallying the days a while ago but she knew it had probably been approximately two years. Wow, she's missed two birthdays. Imagine being a teenager for two years and not even realising you probably weren't twelve anymore.
"I understand...but we can't just wait around anymore. This place has done us good, I won't deny it. We.. we're going to have to sneak out tonight when the danger is...less. We need to find a new place to hide. Or better yet..." Kia's thought trailed off as she racked her brain. She knew what she wanted to say but didn't think they would react well.... In the meanwhile Zen and Iven just say there, looking at Kia in silence for a few minutes.
"I mean...couldn't we go back?" It was a quick and direct sentence coming from Kia. "I miss my mum....some of my friends. And who knows how the rebellion is going, we haven't exactly been in the loop. And what else have we got to live for? We need to do something... anything! So...what do you think?" Eventually she realized she was ranting.
Zen stood and started to pace about the area."How can you even suggest that!!!" He abruptly stopped and screamed out.
"Please shhh," Iven whispered.
"Just hear me out...ok." Kia said.
"No...ok. NO! You may think we have nothing to live for but I have dreams....hopes. We're only 14! Who knows how old really...It's not an excuse for basically....suicide!!! I can't talk about this right now, I-" Zen fumed with emotions and a tear or two.
Soon enough he left the room. Kia was stuck in a frozen state of shock whilst Iven was under his sheets. You couldn't tell his current feelings. He was always a bit on the quiet side...
