Chapter 13: Friend date

Knives p.o.v

I still thought it was weird how Ronnie just packed up his stuff and left while I was gone. There I was laying on my bed: deep in thought. Somewhat disbelieved that my friend had left without saying goodbye to me. He didn’t even had a job yet. Part of me was relived he left we spent many days and nights fighting because he made a mess and did nothing else but made me stressed.

But still something didn’t add up Ronnie came to me for help so why would he leave without a goodbye. No letter, phone call not a mention that he was moving out but oh well since all his stuff was gone I guess it was official.

Signing in complete boredom turning my body to face the window, I stared into the outside world that was beyond my wall viewing the endless flow of water giving the sky a grayish dull color.

After what felt like forever I glanced over to my dresser; my phone was laying there within a moment the screen brighten with vibration. I got up and read jack across the screen he was calling me without hesitation I answered. “Hello” a smile cornered my lips holding the phone to my ear. “Want to have a picnic with me?” jack asked quickly sounding cheerful I laughing at his question “well Mr. strify if you notice it’s raining we can’t picnic today” I pouted though the phone shortly after hearing a chuckle.

“We can’t but we shell I’ll pick you in fifteen minutes”

“but”- the line went drop dead. Oh jack what we you planning this time? I mentally asked myself before running to closet. What to wear. What to wear.

. I rumbled upon many colored skinnies and shirts I just wasn’t sure to choice. One long-sleeve had a paint stain and another had a hole on the shoulder.  My room looked like a tornado hit it I finally decided on wearing dark blue skinnies with a black long-sleeve that had studs poking out of the shoulders and slide my feet into my vans. Applied simple makeup since it was raining a nude color lipstick and eyeliner was enough; from my widow I could see jack’s car pull up I grabbed my jacket putting on my beanie and ran out the door.

Jack’s p.o.v

It was raining abit less now I drove knives and I to a secret place I had setup for us. She noticed we passed my house. She narrowed her eyebrows looking at me with confusion “where are we going?” she asked turning to look at me. “To picnic” I smiled.

Once we made it near an empty park I blindfolded knives to surprise her: along with taking her hands and guiding her thought the park the other end of the park that soon became a woody area. I helped her sit down on a blanket I had laying down on the floor of the arbor. “Take off the blindfold” she did as told and gasped looking around seeing the black blanket we were sitting on to the pillows that leaned on the glass walls surrounding us.

“Do you like it?” I questioned hopeful that she would. Even tho the shy gray I swear her face lit up “I love it” she cheered leaning over to hug me.

………

We talked about life I mentioned her trip to Sweden while we were looking though her sketchbook. I clearly shouldn’t had asked she sighed taking a sip of the grape soda I had poured for us in wine glasses. She was silent for a moment than spoke. “we had to pull the plug on my mother” I could how upset she was a tear fell down her cheek I wiped it away felling upset for her. “I’m sorry” I whispered wrapping an arm around her shoulder and kissing her forehead. Her gazed met mine.

Our faces inches apart from each other it was so tempting we both couldn’t resist. It wasn’t the ‘perfect timing’ where I took her upsetting moment to my advantage or because I wanted and craved this moment. I wanted her to know that I would do anything for her and at stop at nothing to comfort her the best I could. She pulled away for me asking “what are we doing?” giving away a small giggle “aren’t we just friend?” she narrowed her eyebrows at me in confusion.

I just smiled at her even tho I was hurt. I wish you could you remember I wish you knew how much I love you.

“Yes” I replied battered by her words just friends. I looked my shoulder to see the sun out it had stopped raining. “Let’s take a walk” I grabbed her hand and lead her out of the arbore walking a few trees and watching steps. I smirked see the cement path that lead toward the park I step though it continuing to lead her joined by our arms admiring the rainbow from above us.

“Excuse me” a woman with blonde hair and blue eyes walked toward us “yes” I questioned secretly smirking under a cheerful tone of voice Perfect timing.

“i’m a photographer for a couple’s magazine my couple couldn’t make it today, you two just look so cute together I couldn’t resist for the favor” knives chuckled but looked panicked “ oh we are not a-“ I interrupted her “ of course we can” the woman smiled than walking away “ come with me” she spoke without looking back. “Jack” knives narrowed her eyebrows at me once more taking a step back. “Just play along” I whispered.

They took photos till night fall going back to the arbore to clean up the reminds of their picnic jack drove her home. She was happy around him kissing hi cheek sweet dreams because she didn’t like goodbyes. He watched her walk into her apartment than drove home while dialing a number on his phone.

“well done Annabelle she didn’t suspect a thing” he smirked pulling into hid drive way. The woman on the other line was the photographer. She chuckled “i’m glad Mr. Strify or should I say lord?” “your photos will be ready soon” he hang up joyful.

Things were going his way and soon he'll have his princess....
