"Please, don't die, I beg you, don't live me now Calandra". Said the man next to the woman that just gave birth, covered by the blood and smiling, holding her baby as she wants to protect from all the mess outside. "I'm so sorry my love, I won't hold long enough to take her far away from the war. You have to dot it for me "Calandra, hold the baby tight and kissed the cheek of this little human sleeping in her arms. So pure, without all the worst things in the world. Her long and curly black hair stuck on her black skin mixed with blood and sweat. Calandra's bright eyes only could see her baby and her husband next to her, nothing else matter, not even the deaths, the screams, not even the fire almost reaching their small tent.
The air was breezy, the tent made of wood smelled like fall when the leaves are falling, the wind is almost cold. Love. The best word to describe this moment. Also fear. Calandra, a Perreira Fairy, gave birth in the middle of the last moments of the war. A war the began long before when humans, wolves, and the peeiras couldn't work together. The power has taken their minds, blinding them. Therefore any Peeira occurred to be at risk. Outside is thundering, still, All they could worry about at that moment was their daughter. " I need you to do me a favor, my love. You must take her away, far enough, and never tell anyone where she is. You know what could happen if they know about our daughter. Promise me you'll do it. Alloii. Tell me."
The man closed his eyes holding the tears, feeling your throat's tightness. If he could modify everything, run away, take the two love of his life far from this disorder, to an offbeat world, without pain, deaths, blood, seeking for power. He also knows is not possible. Not anymore. What is done, is done. Alloii looked into Calandra's deep eyes and took a breath smelling the sweet perfume that has always matched her kind personality. "I promise, my love, she'll be safe". The man let the tears roll and kissed Calandra's thick lips. "The Forest... " The woman trying to gasp some air. "She'll be safe there." Calandra blinks heavily, the arms not longer holding the baby tight, as the strength drained. Alloii could feel, she is gone. The air was silent Putting her on his lap, he cried. The man's heart has closed. Anyone who arrives could've seen his organ like a leaf drying.
But his mission is not over, he must keep the promise. As Calandra, his most fear is put his daughter in danger. He knows is not over, until she's safe and sound.
He stays for a moment however he knows he can not watch over the body of his beloved Calandra. He puts her body on the bed, spread some straw, over the tent. He put the baby in his arms, wrapped in sheets, gets out, letting the fire consume the tent and Calandra's body. It wasn't just the tent that was burning, he felt too in his heart. He swears whispering he would never feel that pain again.
The smells of deaths spread all over the air. Thousands of fairies wolves and some humans laying on the floor, with their lives drained. Some of them still burning, ash and devastation everywhere. The man walked through the bodies, looking at those pale faces unknown and some of them, his friends, old mates, he has known his entire life. He tried not to cry or collapse, he had a purpose to complete, the last wish of his lover.
He heard two men talking not so far from them. They were whispering about something he could not hear it. Standing quietly, hoping they did not see him, trying to not breathe loudly. The sheets in his arms stirred, reminding him about her daughter, the baby cries and his heart beats so fast, he can almost touch it. The men are not talking anymore, and he can hear their steps in his direction. Is the end. They got them. The only and last desire from Calandra, the love of his life, and he has failed. "I'm sorry, daughter, I'm sorry, I'm sorry He cries and whispers near the baby's face, mixing their tears. His body shaking as the steps becoming handy. Putting his hands on a sword next to him preparing to fight. "You". Said a strong voice. "You're alive, look, he's alive". One of the men said. He looked at them and recognizes their faces.
