(2'nd person pov)

Your eyes glimmered with anticipation and excitement as you stared at the tall wooden door in front of you. You weren't incurably stupid. Sure, you had your intellectual flaws, but everyone had some of those so you weren't particularly worried about it. You knew that he wouldn't let you join the army, at least for now, and Shinya knew it too, he just played along with you. However, you wanted to see exactly where Guren's office was and get an actual proffesor to teach you proper Japanese.

With a little luck, maybe you would even get to met Yuu or Shinoa or Mitsuba! Who knows? Oooo, maybe even Yoichi or Kimizuki! The mere thought made you tingle.

Shinya took one last glance at you. He looked as if he was about to burst out laughing.

"He won't let you join." he mocked, probably hoping you would turn around.

"You higher grade."

"Ha! I don't help!"

Well, well, looks like he's an absolute asshole!

You pouted and stared at the door, holding your dictionary tightly. You reminded yourself that you were not here to join the army for now. You need to make Guren less worried about you and get a qualified professor. That's it! You knocked on the door and waited for his reply.

As you opened the door, your spirit clamped down. You followed what Yuu did, so up until that point, you thought that if you were fiery enough about killing vampires, Guren would warm up to you. Now, as you stood there, under his cold glare, a thought made its way to the surface. You weren't Yuu! You weren't an experiment! You were a random person, why would he trust you for this? If anything, it would make you seem even more suspicious! You mentally slapped yourself for being such a dumbass.

You opened your mouth to say something, but quickly closed it. You were frozen. All of your courage was gone and you just stood there like an idiot. Maybe you were incurably stupid, after all.

Minutes passed in complete silence. The silver haired asshole next to you barely contained his laughter. The brunet in front of you raised an eyebrow, wondering what the fuck you wanted.

While you spent time with the part of the squad that accepted you, you forgot that you could end up being an experiment if they felt like it. For the first time in two weeks, the fear of death overwhelmed you, creeping its way and sending shivers from your toes to your head. Your skin started to ich and you became dizzy. You didn't want to die. You didn't want to die.

As you felt tears threaten to escape, Shinya's warm hand rested on your shoulder.

"Don't be nervous! He won't bite you!~"

You didn't understand all of the words, but somehow his voice calmed you down. You were here, so you might as well try it. Maybe it wasn't the best idea, but you went along with it.

"I want kill vampires!"

It didn't sound as fiery as you planned, if anything it came out as a hight pitched squel, but it was the best you could muster. You closed your eyes and braced for the worst, however it never came. Instead, Guren's joyful and at the same time a little mocking laugher filled the room. You stated at him, perplexed and mesmerised at the same time. Maybe you weren't  incurably stupid, after all.

In the end, it was the same Guren, cheerful and smug. He was so strict with you, that you thought he would ever show this side to you. You almost forgot how much of a 'cool' father figure he was towards Yuu. After all, he wasn't a bad person and you started to wonder if maybe he hoped you wouldn't turn out to be a traitor. For the first time since you came here, Guren looked at you with a genuine smile.
