II Peter 1:5-7 says, 'for this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.'
This story was written as a way to illustrate the impact that simple faith and obedience to God can have, even when your actions don't seem to have benefitted you at the time. May God bless you as you seek His face!
