This book is set after season three but does not follow the series (if that makes sense)
Marinette stares in disbelief, "What..Y-You're breaking up with me..?" She stuttered with tears rolling down her red face.
It was a rainy day. Marinette stood in front of the Agreste mansion with the black umbrella her boyfriend — Well, now ex-boyfriend — had given her the first day they met.
"I'm sorry Mari.." Adrian replied, taking a step closer "I hope we can still be friends" He added on, reaching over to grab her hand and offered her a light smile to lighten the mood
Marinette was already upset enough due to the sudden breakup, but him asking her to still be friends pushed her over the edge. Before they started dating, Adrien had been referring to her as "just a friend" for the longest time and Mariette did not want to go back to square one, not again.
"No!" She snapped, stepping back and reverting her hand. "I-I thought we were doing good?!" The blue-haired girl threw the umbrella at him. Adrian had never thought he'd see Marinette so upset.
He had barely caught the umbrella before looking back up and his ex-girlfriend, seeing that she was already leaving. "Wait..! Let me explain!" He exclaimed, his wet hair sticking to his forehead. Adrian sighed sadly before walking back inside his huge mansion.
His father, Gabriel Agreste stood at the top of the two staircases, hands folded behind his back. "Did you follow my orders, Adrian?" The older man asked. his voice could probably be heard around the house
Adrien's head hung low "Yes, father.." He murmured, walking upstairs, past his bodyguard, and into his room.
"Mr. Agreste, do you really think this is the best decision for Adrien?" His assistant, Nathalie said from behind, clipboard in hand.
"My son needs to focus on school and his other activities, Nathalie. Not some stupid girl." Gabriel said, his tone lifeless as always. He turned and began to walk away, the assistant following distantly behind.
Adrien fell onto his bed "I still don't understand why father made me do that." He spoke to his Kwami, Plagg.
Plagg shrugged, flying over to his beloved cheese, Camembert. "I wouldn't know. Kwamis cant fall in love." He said, face stuffed with the food. "Which is false, because I really do love this Camembert!"
Adrien rolled his eyes "You're no help to the situation, Plagg. I loved her. a lot.." He mumbled. After he had gotten over his unrealistic crush on the famous superhero, Ladybug, he had realized how amazing Marinette was and quickly fell in love with her. But of course, that's all down the drain now. Everything was ruined now, and it was all his fault.
The 15-year-old wiped his tears and rolled over, resting his head on his pillow. Minutes of silence pass, before getting the dangerous idea..
"Father can tell Adrien what to do" He spoke to Plagg, sitting up. "But he can't tell Chat Noir what to do." He spoke, a smirk coming upon his face.
The Kwami gasped dramatically "But Adrien, you know your power can't be used for personal gain!" Plagg reminded him.
"I don't care anymore. I'm not losing someone I love again!" He stood up.
"Plagg, claws out!"
Chat noir leaped out his window, making his way over to the Dupain-Chang bakery
