Maya had a long and emotional day after she left Carina's house. She had to extinguish a fire in a hotel room, save a kid who got himself stuck in a fence and try to reanimate a drug addict who she eventually lost. On top of that she was the one cleaning the station after the day shifts. Is it weird that all she wanted to do was crawl into her friend's arms, the same that made her feel safe earlier ?

She took the cleaning accessories out of the closet, put on earphones and started cleaning around balancing her body and singing along while she was wiping the floor. She didn't hear when footsteps approached.

Carina was standing there staring at the woman dancing in front of her. It was a show not that unpleasant to her eyes. Indeed, she starred at every inch of the dancing body and felt the urge to push her against the nearest wall. This urge wasn't new to her, she's felt this way around Maya for quite a while now which was weird because she'd still had one night stands or was it just to fill her needs she couldn't get with her ?

'Hi' she said loudly enough for the blonde to hear. 'Carina !?' she jumped, 'You scared me to death' 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry !' the Italian smiled. 'Wha-What are you doing here ? Wasn't I supposed to call you later ?' she asked surprised. 'Actually, Jack told me you had a rough day and that you wouldn't be home until late. I made dinner so I thought about bringing you some, what do you say ?'. Maya looked at her mesmerized by all the attention she was being given 'I say you're genuinely my favorite person right now' she joked as the other woman chuckled.

Maya led them to the kitchen making her way to the microwave to hit up the tupperware while Carina sat at the table on the other side of the island.

'I'm gonna do it' she voiced suddenly. 'I'm not sure to understand' Carina raised her eyebrow in confusion. 'I'm gonna run for captain, you were right.' she turned around to face the seated woman. 'I'm proud of you !' she let out happy.

Both women's eyes lingered without really noticing.

*BING* the microwave took them out of their little eye play.

'When are the exam days ?' Deluca finally asked. 'Something like next week' she answered as she took the warm tupperware and walked towards the table to take a seat in front of Carina.

'Oh my, THIS' she hummed as she took another mouth of the dish 'This is the best you've done so far' causing her to chuckle happy to satisfy the blonde girl with a dinner out of the blue.

'So, you're a dancer too ?' the Italian woman teased, changing topic. 'Erase this out of your brain !' Maya slightly blushed and began to play with her wrist. 'Ah you're nervous huh ?' 'No, why would I be' she looked down at her food.

Maya was nervous. Carina would make her feel another type of nervousness. They've surely called each other friends but due to the amount of time spent together lately, some things in the atmosphere made the label hard to follow. She wouldn't deny that she didn't notice how the flirty game became more real and hard to ignore but still, she surprised her with Jack so somehow it didn't mean anything too. It was all confused and as much as she hated to admit it, Andy was right, Maya was feeling things deep down but that, she would easily shut them down for so many reasons or at least she thought she could.

'You're playing with your wrist when you get nervous' the curly-haired woman affirmed without looking away. Their gaze met. The tension was palpable between the two women.

'Mmmh, what's that scent' Dean made an entrance. 'I made dinner, you're welcomed to join !' Carina invited to Maya's disappointment who glanced over at her. Hazel eyes looked back at her out of the corner of the eye smirking, very well aware of Maya's feelings at the moment.
