It was quiet. The sounds of chalk on the blackboard rung throughout the dull classroom. The students did not focus on the last bits of the lecture the teacher was giving out. It was the end of the school day. [Name] sat at her uncomfortable desk and doodled in her notebook lazily, holding her chin with an arm that was propped against the surface below it. What an awful day. When is it not awful in middle high? It felt like forever yet so soon until the class ended. [Name] just wanted to go home.
Ah, but sweet relief came with the chime of the bell. A sigh escaped [Name]'s lips as she gathered her belongings, stacking her papers on her sketchbook. Looming behind her was her best friend, Kuroshōhi Aya. She was short and sheet pale with long straight black hair that ended at her chest. She had pitch eyes and the whites were tinted red. She always looked high, though it was part of her quirk.
"Hey [Name]!" Aya spoke cheerfully behind her friend. "Ya' ready to get goin'?"
"Out of this hell hole? Always!" [Name] spoke as she slung her school bag on her back and quickly stood up, collecting her paper stack into her arms. She looked at her friend fondly.
"Well come on then slow poke! I don't wanna be late for my show!!"
"You're lucky I even let you come to my house to watch it."
"I know right? What would I do without you? I can't wait to see if Jiin falls in love with- '' Aya's voice faded out as an uninterested [Name] focused on whispers from across the classroom instead. The usual gossip... [Name] ignored her friends blabbering and listened in. It was a bad habit of hers.
"I heard...- kid in school...- Yakuza...-" [Name} furrowed her brows at the word. Yakuza.... She could only hear fragments of the conversation, making her wonder.
"Really? Who!?"
"Shh!- Quiet...- I think...- name was- " [Name]'s focus was interrupted by an annoyed Aya poking her in the cheek.
"Earth to [Name]!" Aya spoke with an impatient tone.
"Oh. Sorry." [Name]'s mood shifted drastically.
"Are you listening in on gossip again? I keep telling you that it isn't good for you!"
"What? No I wasn't!"
"Oh shut up [Name]. You're so bad at lying..." Aya grabbed her friends hand and yanked her along as she led the way out of the school building. "So what was it this time? Some girl gets caught sleeping with her friend's boyfriend or something?"
"I'm not sure exactly but I think that they said one of the kids here is-" [Name] paused and sighed. "Yakuza." Aya gasped dramatically and got a few looks for it.
"Really!? Who!?"
"I didn't hear cause somebody interrupted my eavesdropping." The [H/C] girl ripped her hand away from Aya's and walked beside her in the crowded hallway. [Name] fixed her gaze on her friend.
"Look... I told you gossip isn't good for you! It's got you in a sour mood!" Just as [Name] was about to make a comeback, she ran smack into the front of a taller boy and fell on her ass. Her papers scattered everywhere. How cliche... [Name] looked up at the boy in shock and embarrassment. His eyes shined a bright gold and a black mask covered his face. Visible hives began to appear on his skin. A germaphobe?
"Watch it..." His voice was quite deep and had a disgusted tone. Wait... Disgusted? How rude... His tone pissed [Name] off to the max. His friend, who had strange white colored hair, lent his hand to the embarrassed girl, contrary to the boy with the intimidating golden gaze. [Name] felt her body build up with anxiety. Aya was picking up [Name]'s papers and almost piping with anger at the rudeness of the germaphobe.
