The light of the dawning sun woke up Rukmini who lay besides Krishna on her silk bed. This was her first day in mansion of Dwarka, as one newly wed. She touched the cheek of Krishn, who was dozing. "Get up love, you have to leave for duty", she said sweetly to him. Hearing her voice Dwarikadhish woke up. "No one woke me up this way Vaidarbhi. No one woke me up this mellifluously. I do not want to leave you and go to my duty dear." Krishna was truly thoughtful about her. He thought she would be alone without him. "You go to work, my Lord. One must not skip work. I will wait for you when you come for lunch and I will make some delicacies for you", Rukmini replied to him. He loved Rukmini for her principles and behaviour. "Ok my love, as you wish", he replied and went for bath and then to his court which was named "Sudharma".

Rukmini meanwhile, met Devaki, whose feet she first touched as one mark of respect for Mata of Krishn. "You had a nice sleep? Did you like Dwarka?" asked Devaki. "Yes Mata. I love Dwarika and will forever love this city", she replied to Devaki. Rukmini saw the royal kitchen first and then she was taken round the palace.

Rukmini saw the gardens of the palace. They were quite beautiful, with fruit trees and flowers. Then she had something to eat along with Revati, Devaki, Bhadra, Madira, and other women of the palace. She was the queen now. She had responsibilities. With Devaki, Revatidevi and other women of the palace, she went to the inner chamber where some of her wedding rituals were done wherein her mother-in-law gave her silk robes and her own gems. Revatidevi started decorating hair of Rukmini with lovely, freshly picked, flowers which did enhance loveliness of Vaidarbhi.

As per command of Devaki, the royal chefs instructed Rukmini about what Krishna and other members of the palace, loved to eat. Chefs would be there to prepare meals but as queens, they had to know how to make dishes. The chef told Rukmini that Krishna liked curds and other delicacies is made of milk. On this instruction Rukmini started to make kheer for Krishn. That day was the day when the newly wed woman would prepare something for her husband to eat. Luckily Mahadevi used to teach Rukmini how to make kheer and other sweets. Due to this, Rukmini could make kheer easily. Her mother-in-law was surprised with the aroma of kheer which came from the royal kitchen which could attract any one.

When there was lunch time, Krishna came to Rukmini's palace. From now, he had to go to her mansion for lunch as she was his wife. As he came, Rukmini signalled the maids to arrange his gold seat properly and some maids on her orders, started fanning him once he sat. Rukmini brought cup of water for Krishn. Sitting besides him, she asked "How was your day?" Krishna said smiling "My day was truly fantastic, but tiring. When I  saw you, my tiredness has gone." Rukmini was shy. She then clapped and the chef started serving Krishna delicacies of curds and milk. After Krishna was done with his meal, Rukmini brought him one bowl of kheer which she made. "Today's kheer is quite different," Krishna said to her. "I loved today's kheer which is very tasty and sweet" praised Krishn. Rukmini said sweetly "I made that kheer for you Lord". "Oh I see", Krishna exclaimed, "That's why this kheer is truly tasty and divine."

Rukmini was truly pleased that Krishna had liked her kheer and finally she had learnt many things in the palace. She loved her new home and the new people.

Krishna went for his duty after his lunch and Rukmini completed other chores. She had humbleness while talking to maids and that's why, even maids used to love and respect her. Rukmini went to her chamber after all ber work was done and then had a nap. Krishna came to her palace, in the evening when his court duty was finally completed.

"You are tried Krishn. You must sleep" said Vaidarbhi, pressing his feet. "Why are you pressing my feet Vaidarbhi?" asked Krishn. "You shouldn't do this. Please, you can't do this Rukmini." "You are my husband Oh Krishn. This is my love for you, the love of a wife towards her husband who is tired from work. We must help each other shouldn't we?", Rukmini replied to him. Krishna felt happiness, like never before. He had got one devoted and understanding wife. He gave one hug to his beloved wife. "You are my beloved Oh Vaidarbhi", he said hugging his wife.

Rukmini felt transcendental happiness, when her Lord was hugging her. She smiled. Both happily lived in each other's company till the sun dawned.
