I rushed out as soon as I saw him walking down the street but my heart fell when I saw her. He was walking hand in hand with her laughing at something she had said while she smiled at him adoringly. My smile slipped off my face and the warm sunny day suddenly turned cold.
He was looking at her with his warm amber eyes with a look that I can't describe. He said something and she blushed with a huge smile on her face. I turned around and trudged back inside, not ever wanting to see him again. But I knew that it was impossible. I would see him the next day with my hopes up and be broken down again when he mentioned her name with that loving voice.
A deep overwhelming sadness blanketed my heart and tears slipped down my face once more. Needles pricked my heart everytime I pictured his smiling face. But I had to keep going. I had to keep wiping away those tears. And I know that those tears will come every day when I see him because no matter what I think I know that he will never leave her for me. I would still keep him in my heart though. He's mine even if he's given himself to someone else.
So I pick my shattered self off the floor and stood up, ready to face another day. The tears are gone and my heart has been temporarily glued back together. But I don't go back outside because I know what I will see and it will hurt me even more.
