Shinya's POV

Its been a while since the war. Everything looked so peaceful. But this peace could break at any point if those vampires decide to come back again. Ever since the war I decided to keep my distance from Guren as he could no longer be trusted. He had broken mine and the squads trust more than a couple of times. But everyone still decided to follow him. That's Guren for you. But I couldn't do that, after all he's the only one I've ever trusted and to have that trust broken. It felt like major part of me just disappeared.

With crimson red eyes I was thinking about your lies

It was near midnight and I was working on my paperwork, when I heard a knock . "Come in" I said wondering who would be here to see me at this hour. "Shinya" the voice came from the slightly open door. It's Guren. What's he doing here. He's the last person I wanted to see right now. It's okey. Be professional and get done with whatever he's come here for. "Are you still working?" Guren asked coming towards my table. Don't come near, just stand where you are. "What does it look like Lieutenant Colonel Ichinose Guren?" I ask forcing a thin smile. Guren seemed to be in no mood to reply to my sarcasm, he just stood there staring at me. Ahhh I can't look him in the eyes. "How may I help you Lit. Colonel?" I ask looking down on my papers, unable to look him in the eye even though Ive done nothing wrong. "When are you gonna stop this colonel bullshit?" He asks with a piercing gaze. "I don't what your refering too Colonel Ichinose?" I ask finally looking at him with my usual smile. He doesn't reply, just stands there staring at me with an unreadable expression. Guren sighs while running his hand over his hair. "Shinya, I am here to talk" he says in a deep voice. Well I don't want to hear anything from him. Thinking of an escape I decide to wrap everything and leave. That'll be the best option. "What to do, it's already midnight and Im exhausted so if you'll excuse me Colonel Ichinose"  trying to leave the office with the paperwork that I still needed to work on. As I try to quickly pass by, Guren tightly holds on to  my arm. This guy is really getting on my nerves now. "Shinya, we really need to talk" he says looking at me ,while tightly holding my arm. "About what" I ask without returning his gaze. "About us" he almost whispers. "Then there's nothing to talk about" I tell him emotionless. "Yes there is, you've been ignoring me for a while now, and you don't even hang out with the squad anymore, Goshi is really worried about you" he says in slightly raised voice. "So your here cause Goshi asked you to" I ask him finally returning his gaze. "What?" He asks flustered. "No, Goshi did tell me to talk to you but I'm here on my own accords" he says after collecting himself. "I've got nothing to tell you Guren. So let go" I tell him getting irritated. "NO I m not letting you go until you give me an answer on why you've been avoiding me" he asks firmly. I have nothing to tell him so I just stand there silently, gazing down. He pulls me infront of him in an attempt to make me face him. "Shinya, did I do something to make you mad, if so then tell me" he pleads while holding onto my shoulders. He is so close that I can feel his breath on my face. When I finally return his gaze, I can see worry lacing in his eyes. "You broke my trust" I whisper. I have no energy left to face this man. I just want to leave but he is holding on to my shoulders tightly. "Shinya, I didn't tell you anything for your own sake. If I hadn't betrayed you then you could have been in danger" he informs me in coaxing voice.

For my own sake he says. Now he's made me mad. I push him away with all my strength. "For my sake you say, have you ever wondered how it felt when you broke my trust not once but twice. I chose to trust you even after the stunt you pulled in Nagoya but you betrayed me again. How do you expect me to act like everything's fine when I've been betrayed twice by the person  I trust the most" I scream while throwing the papers I was holding at his face. He just stands there with unshed tears. "I m sorry" he whispers. What.. did he just apologize. Does he think his sorry is gonna make my anger disappear. I m no longer the Shinya who blindly trusted you. I quickly collect myself. "Your sorry means nothing. Now that you've said everything you wanted to say, excuse me" I tell with an emotionless face. He doesn't try to stop me this time. As I am about to leave. "Shinya" he calls out to me in a slow voice. I stop to hear what he has to say. "Congratulations on your engagement" he whispers. Without a replying him, I leave.
