"Alright, I came alone, now it's your turn, hold up your end of the deal!" Zelena sneered, strings of red hair falling in front of her eyes. "This is between you and me now! You let the captives go!"
Faro continued to move in a circle, eyeing Zelena's movements, waiting for her to make the first strike. A wicked grin played on his face, "I'm surprised you didn't show up with your precious little soldier," he scoffed. "Nothing but baggage if you ask me."
The red-haired girl felt her body tense at his words. He is to not speak of him that way, she thought. "You leave him out of this! You wanted me alone, come and get me. And I want a fair battle, not using your powers for anything!" she told him, receiving nothing but the stupid grin.
They faced each other, swords drawn. Zelena pictured her sword plunging right through his chest, the pure joy it brought to her face. She would look him in the eyes as he fell to his knees, gasping for air, and she'd watch as he'd take his final breath as she felt the victory of winning.
"With pleasure," he said, his expression hardening. Both began to run at each other, the only sound to be heard was the clashing of their weapons. Faro was at least two times bigger, but that didn't matter to the girl with a sword in her hand.
In a fighting stance, the weapons continuously clashed with the occasional miss. Both were excellent with a sword, hence the reason why the tall, muscular, abomination wanted to battle Zelena. She was the best in all of Catriona, and he wanted to defeat her.
She held the metal weapon in her right hand as she used the other simply for balance. She dodged Faro's swings, ducking, rolling, flipping, doing anything possible to not get hit. Even if she were to let his sword pierce even the smallest bit of her skin, it would set her back, catching her off guard just enough for him to have an advantage.
The battle for him was more difficult than he had anticipated, he underestimated her ability to wield. She was good, but he was better.
He noticed that Zelena was good at keeping her vulnerability to a minimum, making sure that he never had a chance to strike her anywhere major. But, he also studied the placements of her feet, she kept a pattern while he never made the same move twice, which would lead to her downfall.
Faro waited for his open window before unexpectedly knocking the sword from her hand. In one swift movement, he had his hand wrapped around her throat, lifting her off the ground and pinning her against the wall of the fallen castle ruins. She struggled in his grasp, her legs kicking, her blood pumping. She tried to suck in a breath, expecting oxygen to fill her lungs only to find no air coming in.
"You're good Zelena, but I will always best you in anything you do, why do you think I ask you to come alone? It's just you, me, and my soldiers, no hero to come rescue the damsel." He taunted. "You are to die right here, right now, haven't you accepted that already?"
"Go to hell!" she bared through her teeth, attempting to pry his hand from around her neck.
"Normally one could go quickly and painlessly, but I want to savor this, enjoy every moment till you take your last breath. You struggling under my grasp is just a bonus." On his face was a wicked, pure evil smirk, he really was enjoying this, and that was the scariest part of it all.
"You... will not... win!" The girl spat, clawing at his hand in an attempt to pry herself free.
"Stupid girl! Do you not realize the empire I have created?" Faro moved aside so Zelena could see straight ahead. She gasped at the sight of a faraway castle, Faro's flags blowing in the wind. "I will rule all the lands! I've already taken over Sitara, the King practically begged me for mercy before I slit his throat. Maybe I'll pay another visit to Catriona and teach that little soldier some manners."
