You break something pt 2 (LASHTON)

Ashton:

You walked, more like stumbled, into your apartment building. You aren't drunk, more like exhausted. It's almost 9pm and you've been working nonstop for the past 6 days trying to get the money for Ashton, to replace his drums. Dalton went home sadly, he had to play shows in Texas and LA with his band.

You found the drum kit that you broke and discovered that it costs over $2000. So, you got two more jobs. You already had a job at your local cafe and you got a job at Hot Topic and another job at a bar so you could work nights. You got paid today from all of the jobs and you had $3000. Just enough.

You stumbled the way to your door, taking out the keys and unlocking your apartment. You walked in and put your keys on the counter, then made your way pat the living room, or well, you tried to. But there was a familiar figure sitting on your couch.

"Ashton?" You asked.

"You haven't been here." He said.

"What? Yeah I have. I live here, why wouldn't I be here?" You said.

"I've been here five days and you haven't stepped foot in this place." He said.

"I-I've been staying at a friend's house." You lied horribly.

"You look exhausted. Where have you really been?" He asked kindly, trying to move closer to you. You moved back.

"I don't want to talk about this, Ashton. Not now." You said walking out of the living room and made your way to your bedroom. You lied down and pulled the blankets over you, hoping he would leave.

"We need to talk about this. I've been worried about you." He said walking into the room.

"You weren't worried about me when I fell into your drums last week, why be worried now?" You asked sassily. He sighed and sat on the edge of your bed, next to where you lay.

"I-I was angry. Management was telling me that we have to leave for tour soon and they wouldn't let you come. I know that's a crap excuse for yelling at you and I don't care about the stupid drums. I care about you. And I'm not leaving to go on tour if you're not there with me. I'm so sorry, Y/N." he said looking at you.

"It's okay, Ash. I forgive you." You told him, placing a hand on his thigh. He looked at you and smiled. You smiled back as he leaned closer to you.

"So where have you been all week?" He asked.

"Um... Hand me my bag." You told him and he got up and went to get your bag, which was by your bedroom door. He gave it to you and you took out the three checks that you got from work, giving them to him.

"What's this?" He asked confused.

"It's the money... For a new drum kit." You told him. He just looked at you.

"Babe, did you work nonstop for this? You-you shouldn't have done that, you could have gotten sick from exhaustion. No, no. I can't take this money." He said, handing you the checks back.

"No, Ash I worked for you, so-"

"No, Y/N. I'm not taking the money. You worked for it, so it's yours. I can fix the drum set with my own money. It'll be fine." He said and put the checks on your side table. He looked back at you caressing your face as you drifted off.

But just before you got to sleep, you felt a familiar body slide in the bed next to you, cuddling you to his chest.

Luke:

"Luke, I'm so sorry! Vic just wanted me to play a song, cause you know, I used to play. And then... The strings just broke. I-I'll pay for new strings!" You said placing the guitar down on your bed and sitting next to it, putting your head down.

"It's cool, Y/N. let me just get the extra strings that I have in my case and I'll replace them right now. You don't have to pay for anything." He said placing the pizza down and walking over to his case, then to you. He took the broken strings off and as you were watching him, you didn't notice Victoria leave the room.

You watched him change the strings. You've never watched him do anything with his guitar besides play, but you know a lot had to be done to keep a guitar in good shape. You have to change the strings when needed, keep the guitar tuned and cleaned. You were never really interested in that stuff, but now, sitting alone with him.. It was cool.

You looked up at him, not realizing how close you two were until then.

"So.. That song you've been working on. Can I hear it?" You asked quietly.

"Oh, uh... Yeah." He said, picking his guitar up. "It's um... It's called I've Got This Friend." Then he started strumming slowly.

"Can I have a minute?
I've gotta tell you something.
I heard that someone likes you,
And it might be nothing but he's right in front of you.
He's kinda my size,
Don't look back 'cause he's looking.
I think you know him,
But you just don't know that he's right in front of you.
Baby, you've been talking to him nearly every day,
He really likes all the games that you play.
He told me to tell you to see what you'd say,
Before he jumps in and he asks for a date.
'Cause I've got this friend who's crazy about you,
I've got this friend who can't be without you,
I've got this friend and I wish I could see,
How this would end if you knew it was me." He sang, then stopped and looked at you. "It's not done yet, kind of crap." He told you.

"No, it's amazing." You told him, "is... Is it about someone I know?" You asked, knowing it wasn't about you. It couldn't be.

"Yeah. Here, look." He said holding a mirror out in front of you. "She's right in front of you." He said.

"Me?" You asked and he nodded. You hugged him. "Thank you so much!" You said and he laughed.
