The night turned into day and Reva found herself sleeping in an unknown bed. She almost screamed but then she remembered Forrest. Her eyes looked at the clock and she realized that she was very late. She tried to get up but found an arm draped on her holding her tightly and the more she squirms, the tighter the hold gets on her. And then those dark eyes opened looking at her.
"Good morning little birdie what is the rush?" Forrest asked in his sleepy voice. It was the best sleep he had in years, he didn't have any single nightmares. Somehow it was refreshing for him.
"We are late, no I am late, I had to go and see my patients and..." He pulled her closer. "Shhh... sleep. It is such a peaceful morning and I was having such a good dream. No one will blame you for not coming in for a day. Besides I need help. I am injured remember?" He played the only card in his hand to stop her from leaving. But it did occur to him why? And that was something starting to baffle him. Why does he want to open up to her? Why does he want to show her his truest self?
"Ok, then can I cook for you? Or do you have any other reason why I shouldn't?" He pulled her closer instinctively. "No, I don't but that is not why you are here." He snuggled with her more. "Sorry Miss Mathur, I am too tired to get up now, and based on how much you work, I think you need your rest too" He whispered.
"Sorry, I didn't want to disturb your sleep. But I have a habit of waking early" "Ahhamm" He mumbled sleepily. "I can almost picture you." And she hit him hard. "I can see how you can picture me almost."
He held her hands and pinned her underneath him. "Why do girls always think that we have a one-track mind?" He asked. "Because mostly you do," Reva said. "Oh, we do, don't we? Aren't we are going to have an exception to that case?" Reva looked into his eyes; it was a very dark shade of Amber. It was rather an unusual color but see find it very beautiful. "Do we have an exception to that case?" She asked. "You are looking at that exception little birdie" he was still holding her.
"Right why don't you enlighten me then about the same?" Reva asked. "Alright, I was imagining you in a cute teddy bear imprinted pink Pjs set with bunny slippers in your legs and a large stuffed animal that you take everywhere with you." "yes, you are imagining me as a little girl. How so original of you." She said struggling against his hold.
"I didn't mean that I mean that it is how envisioned you according to your personality, and in the middle of the day, I would find you in the library wearing an oversized t-shirt and shorts with big round glasses sitting in a corner reading your favorite book re-reading all those sentences you have read before. And..." He paused looking into her hazel-brown eyes.
"And she whispered almost didn't recognize her own voice. "At the night when I come home, I will find you still engrossed in the book on the couch lying on your stomach trying to get through the climax scene biting your lip in anticipation wearing the oversized t-shirt still crossing your legs and your feet moving on their own rhythm. Your hairs pulled up in a bun." She can visualize that scene but can it be the reality of their relationship? "And what will you do?" She asked whispering.
"Me? I will come towards you silently so you cannot see me coming towards you and... I lean down to your level and... I will press my mouth against your ear shouting Honey I am home" Reva pushed him back getting away from him. "You are so bad; I cannot believe I decided to stay here with you." She complained. "You decided because you too know little birdie, I am not a bad company. And you like it here with me, don't you agree?" He asked her.
"I don't know your intentions towards me Mr." "Trust me it is anything but pure. I have no problem in admitting that to you or to anyone else. Miss Mathur but what I want to know is what is your intention towards me? Do you have pure intentions or there is something wild going on into your imagination?" He asked. She looked away. Why was she even answering these questions for him? She doesn't have a clue about half the things she does and why she does it. She just does them.
