On the morning of Valentine's Day, I woke up and found in my mailbox a valentine's card. The card said...... Everyone expects a Valentine's Day tale to start off like that. But the question is, does it really? Yours may, but my tale doesn't start off like that. However, it may end the way everyone wants their tale to end.
I'm not one of the girls that is obsessed with having a valentine. I don't want a valentine if there is no chance of our relationship lasting. I guess, I just want to wait for the perfect person to call my valentine. It may sound weird to you, but I think your valentine should be dome you care about and they care about you. You can think what you want about why I may be wrong, to you, about my version of someone's valentine.
I, Chloe, have always been told I'm not the typical girl when it comes to Valentine's Day. I am one of the average seventeen year old junior, which means people like you and love trying to get into all of your business. Some might say I'm popular, but I don't think I am because I don't care if people like me or if they don't like my appearance.
I was suppose to have a valentine, but my boyfriend, Jayce, and I broke up two months ago. Everyone thought I was crazy and should have waited until after Valentine's Day, but I didn't want to lead him on. Once the news came out the I didn't have a valentine, I have been asked by a number of boys to be their valentine. I decided to turn them all down because I don't know them, but they claim that we are meant to be together.
Walking into school would definitely be difficult because I would have to receive the honor of being part of the junior best looking couple. My ex boyfriend, who is receiving the honor as well, and I have not talked since we broke up. The assembly would make everything awkward and interesting. But before the assembly I would have to get through the majority of the day.
Once I got to school I went right to my locker, but I wasn't by myself. I saw my best friend, Cody, standing by my locker. We both greeted each other and I unlocked my locker. I opened it and saw Valentine's Day balloon and a dozen red roses. I turned around to look at Cody and he just smiled. I didn't know what to do, so I just smiled back.
The first bell rang and ruined the moment I have been hoping for. I don't know how, but I started to like Cody three weeks after I broke up with Jayce. The day dragged on and was boring like any other school day. That was, until they called for the assembly. It was just as interesting as I thought it would be.
I was glad when the assembly ended because I would be able to see Cody. I went by my locker to gather all of my belongings to go home, when Cody comes by. He stepped right next to me and smiled. I looked up at him, he was a number of inches taller than me, and didn't know what to do.
He took a step closer and stared down at me. That was when the moment I had been waiting for happened, the moment that made my day. He kissed me. After a coupe of seconds we pulled away and smiled at each other. He asked me to be his girlfriend and his valentine. The words wouldn't come out, so I just kissed him again.
I fell for my best friend and he fell for me too. Everything came together and that Valentine's Day is one that I am never going to forget. My Valentine's Day story didn't start off the way a typical one would, but it ended the way it should.
