Namtarn was standing in the living room of her house looking out into the driveway for any sign of lights driving up the road.

Waan had fallen asleep in her room. From then Namtarn had worn the carpet waiting for any news from the hospital.  Singto had called 3 hours ago to say that there was no improvement and that they were working on him.

Wat would she do if Papa Boon woke up and told P'Sing all that she had said? If she was there, she could convince him that Papa had mistaken her for Neen. But no, she was here and Krist was there. He would definitely make Singto believe everything the old man says. The bastard had to be stopped. The old man had to die.Oh!!! why didn't P'Sing call..she couldn't take it any longer..the suspense was killing her.

She stormed towards the kitchen calling for the Maid.."Emily ..."

"Yes ma'am, "the maid rushed out hastily wiping her hands in her uniform..

"I am going to the hospital, Waan is in her room. Listen for her in case she wakes up."

"Yes, ma'am. "

Her phone rang as Namtarn turned around to leave.  She just picked it up

"Hello. "She said expectantly, it was Singto.

"Namtarn", Singto's voice was so filled with pain. Namtarn listened in a nervous tension.

"How's Papa?"she asked gripping the phone tighter.

"He's gone into a coma. His other vitals are back to normal, but as oxygen didn't reach his brain for long its gone into coma..they don't know when he ll wake up. If he ll wake up or not.."he finished in one breath, his voice faltering at the last line.

"I am sorry P'Sing. If I had reached earlier.."

"Don't blame urself..it's not ur fault..how is Waan?" He cut her off ,changing the topic.

"She's asleep."

"Let her be. I ll tell her in the morning. "

"Are u going to stay at the hospital.?"

"No , P'za said she'd stay the night. I ll be going home to rest and take over tomorrow's shift."

"Do you want to come over. You'd feel better here, instead of alone. "She tried to convince him..

"I don't think I can Namtarn..I am sorry but I need the comfort of the farm house now..I am much too confused and much too stressed to venture anywhere else..hope u understand.."he replied tiredly..

"Ofcourse P'Sing..I understand.."she said tight lipped..and he cut the call..no good byes or good nights..

He would come to her tomorrow. He had to. Atleast to pick up Waan.  They would talk then..She walked upstairs.

She sighed as she closed the door of her room and sat on the bed, thinking of the mess she now had to clear up..a mess she had made by acting without planning. If the old man had died it would have been a blessing for her. One obstacle in the path of her dreams gone. But no he was in a coma, and could wake up anytime ruining her prospects.  She can't let that happen after all these years of patiently waiting and working her way into his heart..

The stillness of the house hit Singto the minute he entered. The absence of Waan and his father hitting him hard. It brought down the realization of how much they filled his life , that it felt like a burden of a ton load of bricks on his shoulders.

Krist just walked in behind him and set about shutting the doors, preparing for the night. It felt so soothing to feel his presence. A familiar sight which calmed him. He sat down on the couch leaning his head back trying to clear his mind of the frightening thoughts which filled them..
