30 things I've learned the last 30 days of being 15

1) not every person you meet is going to stay in your life forever. when they leave, let them. someone who wants to stay, will stay.

2) stop trying to please everybody, no matter how nice, or how hard you try, not everyone you come across is going to like you

3) when the boy you like texts you, don't wait around minutes or even hours before replying. reply as soon as you get it. don't take him for-granted and show him you care. he has feelings too.

4) be nice to everyone you come across. do it because you want to, don't ever expect anything in return.

5) when someone lets you down, it's okay to be angry. It's okay. when someone hurts you, it's okay to cry. Cry as much as you want, but don't let it define you. Life goes on.

6) if you love someone, tell them. Don't ever hold back, scream it at them if you have to. show people you care.

7) people will hurt you, and you will hurt people do. As nice as you are, don't underestimate your ability to hurt others.

8) wounds hurt, but they heal.

9) when you ace that quiz you studied for, look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that you're proud. Don't ever ask for anyone else's reassurance. You don't need anybody to be proud, just yourself.

10) don't depend on anyone for happiness. Something's you can't control and if you let it become a huge part of you, it'll hurt like hell when it disappears. Know your place in someone's life.

11) when you're in a room with family, get off your phone, hug them as tight as you can, talk to them, share stories, because one day you're going to look up from that screen and they're going to be gone.

12) if you see someone struggling, help them, even if it's the girl that bullied you in 3rd grade, help her, even if she mentally destroyed you.

13) if you're not feeling it, just stay quiet. You don't have to laugh loudly, or join in on every conversation. Instead, notice how your friends eye twitches every time she gets nervous, or the way the most confident boy in class stutters when he's called on in class.

14) don't take every single thing people say personal, sometimes they say things out of anger and it's okay. It's okay if they blow up in your face.

15) even if you feel like the whole world is collapsing, smile. Smile as wide as you can, you only have so many days to live.

16) even if your grandpa is beginning to forget your name, ask him stories of things he does remember, and when he's lying on that hospital bed, unable to breathe, hold his hand and tell him that you love him.

17) when you find someone that always goes the extra mile for you, messages you on a daily basis even when you talk about nothing, don't push him away. Hold him close to your heart, he could be the best thing that has ever happened to you.

18) you can't fix people, don't even try. It's not up to you to fix someone else's mistakes, remember this.

19) intelligence is ten times cuter than an idiot who doesn't know the difference between "your" and "you're"

20) sadness isn't beautiful or poetic, it's tragic.

21) you can be on the floor, bleeding and someone will still make your pain about them.

22) let him fall in love with your mind, even if that will take time

23) confidence isn't walking into a room with your nose high in the air, thinking you're better than everyone else. Confidence is not having to compare yourself to anyone in the first place

24) it's okay to put yourself first

25) you shouldn't have to completely destroy yourself to put others back together

26) never ever hurt anyone, or pretend to be someone that you're not.

27) when your bestfriend leaves you, let her. Even if you have her for some classes, don't even look her way, but if you catch her eye, smile and remember, you didn't do anything wrong.

28) accept your flaws but don't degrade yourself. you don't see yourself like someone walking down the street may see you

29) your heart may ache when he tells you that he's going out with another girl, and that's okay. It's okay to feel sad even if you're just friends.

30) sorry doesn't fix all wounds. when he says it over and over again, tell him it's alright, tell him not to worry. But you, in your heart, remember that if he lied once, he'll lie again.
