Natasha's POV:
I woke up. I didn't know where I was, just that there was a throbbing pain, and I was in bed.
I could hear rain pattering outside and I sat up slowly. Someone was coming. I reached down slowly, looking for my knife. It was gone. The door creaked open. In stepped a woman I hadn't seen for ten years.
She had her greying hair tied in bun, wearing black shirt and trousers, and was looking at her watch. She smiled slightly at me before sitting down in a chair next to my bed.
"It's been too long, Blackbird. I hope the attack hasn't caused too much damage."
"Where are the others? Are they safe? I bore the easiest of the attack. I need to know!" I worried.
"Always thinking ahead. Good child. Come with me. Be careful with running, your leg isn't fully healed." She ordered before helping me up.
We slowly advanced down the hall. Finally, we came to a door.
"Luckily, it was Clea who took the brunt of the attack." Hill said before pushing the door open.
Clea was Strange's first name. I gasped when I saw her.
Her back was covered in burns and gashes, stitches going up both sides of her face. Her arms were bruised and burnt, same with her legs, all covered in stitches. Her lips were dry and cracked, and her hands were extremely burnt. Strange's cloak hovered over her like a worried parent, fussing with the sheets.
"We tried to hang the cloak up with the rest of her clothes, but now three agents are in hospital, so we let it stay. Apparently, this cloak is overprotective."
I looked at her. "Does Doctor Strange know yet?"
"Do YOU have the bravery to tell an extremely powerful magician that his child could die?" She responded.
"Fair point."
I sat down by her bed and I swear that cloak was pitying me. I sighed and stood up.
"There's a meeting, come with me. We need to discuss this."
I followed her out of the room and down the hall, finally leading me into a meeting room. There was a large glass table with chairs seated around it, an electronic board and computer at the front, and a podium stood before the table. I sat down next to Morgan and Spidey, who hadn't been at the reunion lunch disaster.
He was now 20 while the rest of us, except for Morgan who was 28, who were 23. He waved at me. I looked back before turning to Morgan. There were bruises all over her arms and burns on her face.
"Explosion's suck," She muttered to me as I sat.
I nodded in reply and she smirked.
"Hi guys, I know most of you are injured and sore and really need to rest, but we have a problem. There was a person who attacked you. An assassin who has been attacked S.H.I.E.L.D for years. A year after your mission the first attack came. The top floor of this building was exploded. A masked assassin has been seen at each explosion. Did anyone see anything?" Hill explained it slowly and precisely, making we understood.
I slowly raised a hand, showing I had seen something. "I saw a person with guns and knives walking towards me in the midst of the explosion when I was about to pass out."
"Ok. Anyone else?"
Nobody else had seen things.
"Are our families, ok?" Morgan questioned worriedly.
"They're fine. Mostly hospitalized, but all injuries are minor and fixable."
"Clea?"
"She'll be fine. Scarred, but fine. She's alive and will be able to do magic again."
Then, a boom rang through the room and the doors slammed open. A man stormed in, red cape billowing around him. Orang sparks flew from him and his eyes were furious.
"So, my only child is dying, and nobody tells me? Is that how your agency works now?" He snarled.
"Mr Strange-," Hill started
"It's Doctor Strange."
"Ok, then, Doctor Strange, we did not say because we didn't want you to react like this."
He breather deeply and his cloak flattened out, sparks stopped flying and he landed on the ground.
"Then why did you hide this from me? She is my daughter!" He boomed, still angry.
"We didn't want anyone else to get injured sir. You are not reacting that well. Please, sit down. We will explain everything."
"Fine."
He seated himself across from my seat, still fuming. He was really scary when he was angry.
"As I was saying, the attacks happen frequently and this time we are lucky nobody died. This assassin is the best we've faced. Even better thank Bucky. Probably being controlled as well." Hill continued.
"Hill, if I may. Shouldn't we talk to Bucky. He knows everything. He worked for Hydra, the same thing this new assassin is probably working for. He could help!" I exclaimed.
"He's been through enough."
I sighed and sat.
Soon everyone left the meeting room. It was evening. I sat in my new room thinking. And then I got packing.
