Sam x reader

Context:  You have known the Wilson family for quite a while now. As a kid Sara's and Sams mom has always looked out for you. Always feeding you, always welcoming you into their home when yours wasn't quite right. You and Sara grow up to be best friends, but you and Sam fall off when he joins the avengers. But news from Sara says he's coming back..
Y'all gonna be either proud or disappointed... there's no smut... however this chapter is a LOT shorter due to that. But I promise it's just as good.

Y/N's POV

I look at my phone to see that Sarah was calling. Hmm weird I thought. She never calls me while I'm at work. "Hey everything all good?" I ask.
"Hi I'm sorry I know your at work Y/N, but I got exiting news I know even you will love!". Sarah pretty much yells through the phone. I pulled the phone away from my ear a bit before I said "ok" and let her continue. "Well you know how Sam has been stoping by every now and then?" She says.
"Well yeah." I say confused and waiting for more of an explanation.
"Well. He's coming home for a while because the government shut down their whole operation thanks to the new Captain America.. well umm killing that one flag smasher".
Emotions explode in my head. Now that me and Sarah live together and Sam's coming back. I have always had a huge crush on him so this is gonna be weird. Maybe if he weren't Falcon and an avenger things could or would be different, but he is and I'm just me I sigh a bit before putting on a happy face.
"That's great!" I said. "When did he say he was coming?" I ask wondering if i could get home and fix up my room and clean the house a bit.
"Oh he said he should be here by morning at least" I sigh lightly. That should give me enough time to at least lightly clean the house.
"Ok. See you in about an hour or so" I say checking the time on my phone. I have about 45 minutes left at work.

    Finally home.. now to clean. As I pull out cleaning supplies and start to wipe down the kitchen I hear foot steps walking towards me.
    "Sarah what did I say about doing that.. you know-"
    "Well I'm not Sarah but I'll keep that I'm mind" I whip my head around to see Sam standing there with his hands is his pockets. I smile slightly and put the disinfecting wipe I was using down.
   "Hi Sam." I say simply. Sam smiles back at me.
    "Hi Y/N" he says. He takes a step forward. I feel my face burning.
    "Hi" is all I managed to get out. Sam slightly laughed.
    "Hi" he says and all we do is stare deep into each others eyes. It felt like an eternity of embarrassment.
"Hey you two. glad to see you guys talking." Sarah says breaking our eye contact. I don't really know if you could call what we were doing talking. "Sam you should be resting it's late and I know you have had a rough few days. And Y/N you too. All you do is work and then when you get home you clean and help deal with the kids. I don't even know if you get any sleep!" She says half yelling, but keeping it at a whisper so she doesn't wake up the kids. I role my eyes and turn around and grab the wipe I was using to clean the kitchen with. I continue to wipe down all the counters. Sarah huffs and walks away to which I'm assuming bed.
Sam walks up behind me and just stands there quietly as I continue to clean. The silence is weird. I don't know why. Normally would kill to come home to a quite house, but now...all I want is for Sam to say something.. anything. I relize the wipe I'm using is all covered in dirt so I turn around to throw it away. However not realizing how close Sam is I practically run straight into him. I almost feel over before he pulled me in and held me as I regained balance.
"You ok?" He says slightly lifting my chin up. Shit I just know I'm red. I feel like I have butterflies in my stomach and all they want to do is escape.
"Umm yeah. I didn't realize you were still there." I say looking anywhere but his eyes. However it's hard to avoid them when he is holding my face captive with his hand.
"Sorry. Guess that's my fault huh?" He says laughing a bit. His laugh diffuses the tension causing me to smile and giggle a bit.
"God I miss laughing with you." I say grabbing his hand that's currently on my face and holding it. We make eye contact and Sam slightly tilts his face.
"What do you mean?" Sam says. I look at him in confusion. What do I mean? How do I even answer that?!
"Sam. Things just feel so different. We're adults. Your a top notch avenger. And I'm just me who works a night shift at a hospital. But when we laugh. It brings the feeling we are kids again. We are on the same level Sam." I stop talking and pull his hand away from my face.
"Y/N yo-" Sam goes to speak but I stop him.
"You can have my bedroom. It was yours to begin with any way. I'll take the couch." I say before walking off. I throw the wipe away and grab two extra blankets. One to use as a pillow and the other to cover up with. "Goodnight" I say ushering sam to bed.

"And how many of those people still owe mom and dad a favor" I hear Sam talking. I don't wanna move. It still seems really early. So instead I roll over on the small space of the couch and try to block out any noise. I wake up what appears to be a few hours later and don't see anyone in the house. I fold the blankets before getting up to go to my room. I sit in the bed trying to fully wake up. The bed smells like Sam. I smile to myself before remembering the conversation form last night and how it had ended. I grab an t-shirt and jeans. Along with my undergarments and head to the bathroom. I start a nice warm shower, something to get this icky feeling of and out of me. I play some music like I always would and hop in.
As I start to was my hair a good song comes on and I sing along (ummm you pick the song because I have a weird taste in music)
