Darcy unlocked her apartment and stepped in. Quickly stripping of her clothing and setting down her box of remaining brownies on her kitchen counter. Turning on her TV and scrolled through the channels until she found "Modern Family". Darcy had a weak spot for sitcoms. Some were cheesy and cliche, some were dramatic telenovelas, some were very old from the 50's.

Darcy often watched sitcoms, specifically Modern Family when she had a bad day.  Modern Family was like a little world Darcy could escape into. Glancing at the photo sitting on the counter, she felt a pang in her heart. She felt all alone, all over again.

She was an only child growing up, her father worked and worked and when he was home showed no interest in her.

One night in highschool, she got off the bus and was so excited to see her father home from work. The excitement quickly faded when she opened the door only to hear him yelling about dinner and how the house wasn't clean.

Her heart sank listening to them bicker and argue about small insignificant things. That night was simply one of many.

She felt like the scared sad lonely teenager sitting in her bed on the verge of tears listening to her parents argue loudly for hours of the night.

Darcy desperately wished she could go back and hug that little girl, and tell her it all would be worth it.

She remembered meeting Jane for the first time and finally feeling like she had a friend, whether it was simply business or not didn't matter.

Darcy always feared Jane saw things very differently,  that Jane saw her as the vapid, frivolous, less intelligent intern.

Hot tears panged her eyes.

"Stupid... stupid damn...stupid show." Darcy choked out throwing the remote after turning the tv off.

Maybe TV tonight wasn't a good idea.

Walking into her room and slamming the door behind her crawled into bed, scrolled through YouTube and decided to just sleep early. "I have a big day tomorrow I can't be up all night crying" she thought to herself.
