Stop crying, Yuri. He's only Aari. I mean, who cares if he doesn't like you back? You're 13, you're amazing and talented, you'll have plenty of other men waiting for you..

"Yuri, it's okay." 13 year old Naya assured me. I don't believe it. My life is over.

"He doesn't appreciate the things you do, if someone did what you did for him to me, I would be falling head over heels in love." Yuri's friend Gigi commented.

"You guys are right. I love you all." I cried, hugging them tightly.

A rose, a sketch, a song.

A pink rose, soft, delicate. Smells like heaven, overrun your senses. Beautifully, gently.

A sketch, like looking into a mirror. A piece of paper, meaningless, but meant the world to me.

A song, a composition of my own. Just notes, and melodies, useless fucking shit. I never got to give him his song. A fucking painful reminder of him. I will never play it again.

I fucking swear it.

My talent, my audacity, what's the use if he doesn't like it?

I saw him shiver as he walked past me, through the doorway. He's never done that before. I look at Ninju as she shrugs quietly, and goes back to doodling on the cover of her brand new planner.

Wait, he didn't shiver because of me..

"Aari, wait." I said running up to him. He turned around and sighed in relief.

"Are you okay?" I asked him.

"Yes, I'm okay Yuri." He said, rubbing his temples. I caught a glimpse of his wrist before he hid it with his sleeve.

"You're cutting." I said, realizing how hard he had it.

"No I'm not. Fuck off." He said sternly.

"Just talk to me, Aari. Please?"

"No.. Yuri, just leave me alone.." Aari said, taking the stairs down.

"Aari, just come with me." I said, taking his wrist.

"Ow." He mumbled. I pulled him away to the music room.

"What?" He asked.

"What the fuck could you possibly want?" He asked.

"Just sit down." I grabbed him a chair.

"This room is almost always empty." I said, seating myself at the piano.

"You don't need to be an ass, you know.."

"Look, I'm sorry if I hurt you, or anything." He said.

"Just shut up." I said, beginning to play the song I wrote for him.

"You-" He began to mutter.

As I finished the song with flourish, he ran up to me and hugged me.

"You wrote that.. for me?" He asked me.

"Yes." I said, seating myself on the chair next to him.

"I'm sorry, it's just-" I cut him off.

"You still have feelings for Ninju. It doesn't take an idiot, Aari." I said, looking down at my hands.

"I want to get back together. But she'd never take me back." He said.

"Maybe in high school, Aari-kun." I said, blinking fast to hide the fact that I was crying.

"You're only human, and we're just 13 year olds." I said, not daring to bring my head up to meet his gaze.

"I'm 14, remember?" He said, bringing my chin up.

"Are you crying?" He asked.

"No." I said.

"Just promise that you treat Ninju right, or I'll break your fucking ankles." I said menacingly.
