So it turns out Rufio's story is the biggest writer's block ever. I just don't know what I want to do with it. So what I did was I skipped it and kept writing in hopes that I would find a solution later on in the story but I also didn't want to just stop updating until I got it in case it takes a while. So what I've done is just posted the rest of the chapter and will be continuing as normal. This scene takes place directly after Bella tells the story.
She watched as Wendi wandered away from her, thinking about what she had told her. Bella knew her story somewhat contrasted with what she had told Wendi earlier, but she couldn't bring herself to lie. Their was no real reason to now anyways, and she couldn't bear to insult her friends memory like that. Wendi looked was about twenty feet away looking thoughtfully at a small flower that dared try to live in the dreary place.
Guilt was beginning to gnaw at Bella. None of this was really fair to Wendi, and she really was a nice girl, everything Bella wasn't.
I'm doing her a favor, Bella consoled herself.
Wendi was positively ghost-like. She couldn't have more than a week before she faded away. Sending her home was the kind thing to do.
She was starting to worry. Hook was late. And with every passing moment that he didn't show up, it was more likely that Wendi would want to leave. She was beginning to wander if he was going to show. But that was ridiculous; he had to show up, he gave his word. Hook may have been a pirate, but he always kept his word.
"Where is he?" She muttered to herself.
"Did you say something Bella?"
"Oh no, just thinking out loud."
Wendi nodded. "We should probably leave soon," she commented.
Bella's stomach nearly heaved. Wendi didn't make any actual move to leave though. She looked out at the tree's tensely for a moment before wandering out towards the beach. The pirate ship wasn't visible from their location though, Bella had made sure of that.
Just as Wendi had bent to pick something shiny off the ground laughter began to surround them. Pirates appeared, almost as it by magic, from between rocks and behind trees.
"Hello me dears. Out for a stroll?," Purred a voice.
Both girls turned to watch as Captain Hook approached, his hook gleaming it the light as he lightly twirled his mustache.
"I might ask what two fine ladies such as yourselves are doing in a dangerous place such as this, but I already know. Don't I?" He cast the last part at Bella who was frozen on her seat. Something didn't seem right.
He turned to Wendi, "You must be the little Wendi-bird," She flinched at the sound of her Grand- mamma's nickname leaving his mouth. "I'm afraid you'll have to accompany me and me crew back to our ship, my dear." He grinned. He then turned to Bella.
"Thank you so much for your help Tinker Bell. This will make my mission in destroying Peter so much easier, now that I have someone he truly cares about."
Wendi cast Bella a betrayed look before a couple of pirates threw a bag over her head and carried her in the direction of a rowboat Bella hadn't noticed before.
Hook was sneering down his nose at Bella, his stinging remark taking a moment to sink in. When her mind finally caught up to his words she sprung to her feet.
"That wasn't our deal!" She accused. "You're supposed to take her back to the living world. That was our deal. You gave me your word!" Bella knew she sounded pathetic, but she couldn't bring herself to care.
"Oh, dear little Tinker Bell. Did we make a mistake? You should be more careful when making deals with pirates. I merely said I would keep our little Wendi-bird safe and away from Peter. Taking her to her home was all you. Run along now. I have no more use for you... and I doubt Peter will either."
One of the pirates shoved Bella onto the ground, Hook's triumphant laughter filling her ears. By the time she managed to stand, tears burning her eyes, they were gone.
"What have I done?" She murmured.
