I already can guess what you're thinking. I just met this guy how do I know to trust him. The best way to explain it I guess is instinct maybe. I knew I had to stay with Finn. He knew about the numbers. By the looks he was older than me too. He could teach me.
Finn stood there in his black glasses and a beanie. A light blue shirt and cargo shorts despite the cold weather. So he had another set of clothes. I looked down at his feet, another pair of shoes too.
"Hold up Finn." I said "I'm not dropping everything to live with you wherever you do live."
"Oh I got a place-"
"No," I cut him off. "We can meet here. At the pond. You know how to get here right?"
He laughed "I'm blind not an idiot."
"Right. Well like I said we can meet here for the next few days or however long until I decide what to do next."
He put his hands up as if showing he was no harm. "Hey, I understand. However, I can prove to you right now how good I am with the numbers."
My eyes narrowed. "Tell me about your number, four." Although I could see his number I couldn't get much from it. I didn't even know fours could see the numbers too.
"I can tell about as much about my number as you can yours." Finn was right the only thing I got from my number was the fact that it screwed up the patten.
"Then how do you prove it."
"What?" He called
We were standing on opposite sides of the pond again. Both our heads hurt immediately before we even saw each other. We had to wait yet again for it to slowly become unnoticeable.
"I said then how are you going to prove this to me?"
He nodded understanding "We go to Foreheight take a walk. I'll show you the numbers with the people, but you have to prove to me to."
I nodded.
"Okay?" Finn called. I kept forgetting he was blind. Such an odd factor. I shrugged it off just a speed bump I told myself.
"Yeah, sounds good. How's your head?"
Finn shrugged, "still hurts but bearable. Get over here."
I hobbled over the wet pebbles that surrounded the bed of the pond until I met Finn. My head irritated itself by getting closer.
"Let's go." I say simply. I offer him my arm but Finn refuses and treks on leading the way. By the time we reach town he was a good two yards ahead of me.
"You're slow."
"You have longer legs."
Finn laughed. "Sorry I guess I just assumed you were used to being in the forest."
I was shocked. "For your information I happen to li-"
"Shhh." Finn interrupted using his index finger to cover my mouth -at least that's what he aimed for he got more of my cheek. "Male about twenty feet away that way," he pulled his hand away from my mouth and pointed straight ahead with a left tilt.
I looked in the direction. "Alright what say you?" I asked.
"A 34. Hard worker messy type job. As a child he was hurt like broken."
I nodded getting everything he was saying.
"Wait." Finn stopped and I could feel his heart stop from a foot away.
"What is it?"
"Can't you feel it?" Finn asked his voice almost urgent.
"What is it?" I repeated.
