Being born and brought up in a small town in India, Navjot had a certain set of principles that he wouldn't change. He had been given the opportunity to study in London for two years. Many thought that the soft spoken, helpful boy would go and change with being in a foreign country and change was there alright. From a gangly boy a man had come back with those principles intact.
He had known from a young age that he would have an arranged marriage. But that did not mean that he never had a fling or ten. He was always up front with them. He was still friends with his exes. And they always said that they wished he was someone they could take home and introduce to their family.
So when his family finally said they had found him a bride he knew the time had come to now accept reality. He would soon become a husband to a person he'd see for the first time. He knew marriages were based on more than just the stars being aligned but truth to be told he was nervous about meeting his going to be fiancee.
A marriage had to have compatibility, understanding, love and a healthy dose of lust. You did not have to be as beautiful as a miss Universe but you had to have an attitude. A spark that would not only get him interested in her but also keep him in the marriage. After all a marriage without chemistry was as intriguing as a Bollywood movie's story line that had been repeated in the last fifteen films.
"So aren't you going to ask about her?" His mother asked as he sat to eat lunch. "You have selected her so I am sure that your choice isn't going to be bad."
" I never said our choice is bad. I am asking you. Why aren't you curious about her? Don't you want to know more about the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with? You know what why don't you send her a request on that social site? So then when you finally meet each other it won't be so awkward. And you may even get to know each other before she comes next month." His mother suggested.
His mother's advice in his head, he sent a request to Samaira Arora. Now all he had to do was wait and see what would happen. Would she accept it? And if she did what would happen?
It was two in the morning and Samaira wasn't getting any sleep. She kept on tossing and turning. Unlocking her phone she opened facebook. She nearly dropped the phone because she couldn't believe who had sent her a friend request.
Navjot Singh Dhall's face looked up at her through the screen. He had taken a selfie and was wearing a well fitted shirt that showed of his taunt muscles. She could only look at his photo and think how would it feel to run her hands against his stubble. How it would feel those luscious lips. Stopping herself with those thoughts running through her head she immediately accepted the request.
A minute had passed when her phone notified her of receiving a message, opening it she saw that Navjot had sent her a message.
Hi Navjot Singh Dhall

Yes and that is why I was hoping we could you know talk to each other now. I mean you would come here after a month and instead of wasting time we could learn about each other. So would you want to talk to me?
Rereading the message she realized that he was as nervous about getting married to each other as she herself was. Replying
I would like that thank you. So... how do we go about this? This is my first.
