December 1st 1995

A knock at Jade's window was caused by an owl, the Lupin's owl. She reluctantly grabbed the letter from the owl before sending the owl on its way back home. Jade didn't want to read the letter, she didn't want to have to respond to whomever sent her the letter because for some reason she felt guilt. Even if she had no knowledge as to why she felt this way.

Opening it, she could see it was Tonks handwriting and she sighed a sigh of relief because she knew that it couldn't be as bad as if Lupin had written to her.

Dearest Gem,

I see you haven't been responding to my other letters even though you promised me you would keep in contact at the beginning of the year, I'm beginning to become worried for you as Hans and Teddy have reported back to me on your wellbeing. They say they feel you are not coping in the best ways and therefore Remus is seriously considering sending you back to the hospital through his concerns.

He says you haven't even spoken to him and nor have you attended any dinners, of course, I am not angry with you because I understand that you have had a treacherous summer. Though I cannot help but worry for you. I understand how much it hurt you when you had to live at the hospital but if i were you i would make a better point at staying in contact because Remus will not hesitate to send you there again. I don't want that for you.

As you know, during Christmas you are expected to come home for your own safety as Remus would like to perform tests on you to ensure you are doing well enough to be in education at the current moment. I cannot imagine how hard this may be for you and I am aware that you and your brothers have had a falling out. Please stick together, life is hard and there will be challenges but those challenges can be overcome if you have your support system.

Nevertheless, I have attached a crystal for you in this letter. I hope you are well and that you are not loosing your shine because you shine brighter than anyone i have ever known (And i do not say that from bias). You mean the world to me and you are also the daughter I always wished for, you make us all proud Jade and we do love you even if sometimes you cannot see it.

With love,
Tonks.

Jade's heart sunk at the letter, not because she caused Tonks to worry or because her brother's were reporting back but because Remus was seriously considering sending her back there. She couldn't believe that he would put her through that again and again. He saw how much it ruined her, how much it tainted her soul with darkness. Jade came back from that hospital mentally ruined and worse than ever before. She refused to allow him to do this to her. Did he even care? Or did he just want to get rid of a burden?

Either way, she crumpled up the letter and set it on fire quickly. Ensuring that she wouldn't be able to come back to it in the future. She hated him, she was furious with him for even considering it. And tests? Merlin, she could not handle more tests being thrown at her.

Jade just wanted to be freed from this life of trauma and pain, going back to the same place that caused her that would not benefit her nor help her. He was silly to think it would cure her of what she was because nothing could. Nothing could change the way she was. Ever. She was simply Jade Black and she didn't hate that.

The crystal fell out from the letter, she threw it in her bathroom sink with watery eyes as she watched it slowly fall down the drain. The audacity that Tonks had to tell her she cared about her even though she did nothing to stop Remus from potentially sending her back was crazy to Jade.
