Night Killer's mom was waiting outside Starlight's house to attack Starlight. As Starlight walk out of her house unknown of the danger waiting for her. Night Killer's mom jumped at Starlight, and just as she did, Night Killer jumped at her mom, knocking Starlight out of her mom's way. Even though that meant being in her mom's path of attack. As her mom attended who she thought was Starlight, she soon realized that it was Night Killer. Not wanting to hurt her daughter, or be attached by the Goodmares. Night Killers mom fled back in to the woods.
Despite being attacked by her own mother, Night Killer was unharmed. Except for a large bite on her leg, the bite Night Killer got would kill any Goodmare in a few days. But because Night Killer was a Nightmare, the venom had little effect on her health. And with the attack on Starlight, Dr. Life said that Starlight was to be in the house of a different Goodmare at night.
