With a brief flick of her cape, Death phased back into the Realm of the Gods. She materialized at the entrance to the castle, of which she and her sister had lived since the dawn of living organisms. The two sisters came into existence at different times, however. The first life began the life cycle, which Emily created, and since death is at the end, Jamie came into existence a while later. She was born when the first lifeform met its demise.
Jamie wandered through the massive corridor, glancing at the familiar marble pillars that held up the roof of the great castle. She thought back to that day so long ago that humans came into being. That was when the sisters really began to understand their powers and feel the burdens that came with them. As she passed the library, she glanced to her right at the huge art studio. She continued down the hall, and finally reached the grand throne room.
Entering the doorway, she tossed her long cape on to its hook on the wall, and walked over to her throne. She rested her massive scythe upon the side of it and placed her black tiara on her head. She draped her legs over the side of her throne and laid her head back on the other side. The throne was large, with black velvet cushions and a golden back, and Jamie found it very nice to lounge in. Just as she laid back and began to drift off to sleep, she heard familiar footsteps coming down the hall.
And Jamie sat up immediately.
The only being that was in existence before the two sisters was Chaos, who created the universe and time itself. In the time where everything and nothing existed simultaneously, he created the universe. Everything born out of this was a result of him waking up. Even before the Earth had oxygen, he wandered the planet, adding things and destroying things, making everything even outside the planet itself work just the way he planned it to. With his addition of living beings came the sisters, and finally, Chaos had company. Now, fourteen billion years later, he had turned mostly dormant, still going about his day to day life, but not interfering much with human society. Not like he wanted to anyway. Humans weren't exactly his favorite creatures.
Chaos leaned against the doorway, hands in his sweater pockets. "Rough day?" he asked. Jamie hopped out of her seat and walked over to him. "You wouldn't believe." she replied. Chaos smiled. "Would you like a hug?" he said, holding his arms out. Jamie giggled and nuzzled into him. "It's good to see you, Tanner." Chaos (or Tanner, as that was his real name) gave her a kiss on the forehead.
"Emily told you?" Jamie asked. Tanner looked confused. "No, I just figured you were very sad, considering you looked as if you were about to cry." he told her. Tanner definitely knew his wife quite well. Jaime smiled, and began to explain everything to the only one who understood.
