Silence

A silence
A million white-hot needles
Piercing my mind
They reek
Of scorched skin
In the sink
Of fresh blood
on a razor
Of alcohol
Hidden from blind family and friends
Of white powder
Zipped in a plastic bag
Of dirty syringes
With just enough liquid to hold on
Of pills
Sealed beneath a child-proof cap
Too many
Too many
It makes me insane
Rope around her neck
Scars lace up her arms like deadly threads
No one will know
They can't see through the lies
The most painful part
Is hearing her say "I'm fine"
They don't see her drowning
Behind a locked door
They never saw the scars
Underneath "I'm just cold"
They broke her inside
They never thought twice
Now she is dead
Her heart turned to ice
The fire is gone
The warmth of her touch
Her gentle words
And deep thoughts
Were never enough
She gave all she had
But you never said a word
Or perhaps you had
Words of hatred
Anger
Selfishness
Frustration
She was lonely and now
You failed to notice
She's dead now
Gone
One too many pills
The silence deafens
But only some can hear the words.
