I already got home.
Mom's on the phone, ordering our meal.
I went up to my room and read some stories in Wattpad until Moose called me to eat pizza, burgers and coke for lunch.
Dad wasn't home which is pretty weird.
When I finished, I went back to my room and played Clash of Clans. Then Amelia called me.
"What is it?" I answered.
"Buy something and gift wrap it." she said.
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"Ugh! Didn't Sally Edwards told you?" I could hear Eden's voice.
"Geez, sis! It's not like she told everyone!" Allen said.
"She's just telling her, twinie." Melody said.
"What did you just said?" Allen said.
"Well, it's not like Sally's responsibility to tell the world that today's Emmy Holmes' birthday!" Amelia said.
"It's her birthday today?" I asked.
Emmy's an old friend of Amelia, she lives with her unmarried uncle, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who's a famous writer and her mother, Midge Holmes.
We don't know who her father is and Sally's her best friend in the neighborhood since Amelia was busy doing stuff at the agency and that's why Sally knows it.
"What does she likes?" I questioned.
"Find books about being a detective, Amelia's going there after this call. Just go to a nearby bookstore, I'm sure you two could find one." Al said.
"I'm going there now, bye." Amelia said and hung up.
I fixed my blue shoulder bag and put all the things I needed.
"Andie, Amelia's here. Hurry up you pig." Moose said, calling me the nickname he gave me.
I simply ignored what he said and went downstairs.
I saw Amelia watching a movie in the television with Moose.
"What's the title of the movie?" I asked.
"The Thirteenth Warrior. Are you done because we got to go." Amelia said and we went out to go to Mystery, the nearest bookstore.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We walked a few blocks from my home. The bookstore was just across the street, in front of Cake Clearance, a famous bakeshop.
We crossed the street when this blue car came out of nowhere was trying to hit us at full speed.
But he missed nearly an inch from us and was going straight.
"Reckless driver." I uttered.
"Come on we gotta buy a book." Amelia said.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We went inside the store and searched for books and stuff.
I found a book entitled "How to be a good detective".
"How about this?" I asked Amelia, showing her the book.
"This would be perfect." she said.
We went to pay it and got to the gift wrapping center. After that, we got out to go to cross the street and hail a taxi but this blue car from awhile ago tried to hit us again!
We ran while crossing the street and again it missed us for like an inch and drove away.
"That's the third incident today starting with the grenade." Amelia said.
"Don't you mean second?" I asked. "And I can't believe our luck!"
Then this man with a black coat bumped us.
"Hey, watch it!" I said.
"Sorry, I'm such in a hurry." he said.
Amelia picked up something and began stalking the man.
I followed her.
"What are you doing?" I whispered.
She didn't answered but we kept following the man.
The man stopped in an old house.
Amelia grabbed me by the hand and hid behind a nearby bush and at the same time the man looked behind.
Good thing was that we were hidden.
"What are we doing?" I whispered.
She gave me a small piece of paper. It said:
Great job, Dakesian. That would teach the Hardy's a lesson.
Be sure nobody's following you on the way to the hideout.
Go at once you get this.
Roberts.
I looked at Amelia, she had the face.
That face that says 'We have to go and investigate the place'.
And that's what detectives do at sometimes, I guess.
"No, we still have to go to Emmy's home." I said.
"Just a little won't hurt, right? We'll go when we have enough information." she said. "Anyway, we're already here."
Black coat was now inside the house talking with his teammates.
Amelia slowly went to the side until she went under the window.
She motioned me to come over and I carefully did.
