I sat up on the bed, hair everywhere, and did nothing.

Yes, my life as Emma Triscal was usually this boring. I reached for my sunglasses and found them somewhere on the bed. I put them on. I didn’t do much else with them. They were just shades. I rolled out of the pile of blankets on my bed and promptly fell on the floor. I did this every morning, and I got used to it. Standing up, I saw my world through the tint of shades, as per usual. The room was actually pretty normal, my laptop was on the bed, several anime posters on the walls, a notepad next to my bed containing every secret about my friends, and candy wrappers literally all over the floor. I looked over at the desk to see my lovely jumble of colorful wigs, which I often wore to entertain myself. The wall itself was a plain blue color. I sighed and put on one of the wigs. I felt like a blue wig today. My roommate was probably off to work already. She might even be sleeping still. I opened the door about an inch, and peered outside. The hallway outside was empty, and her door was shut. I frowned slightly but opened the door the rest of the way. Then I closed the door quickly upon realizing I was undressed. I knew nobody was home, but it’s a bad habit I have of keeping everything to myself.

I dug through my dressers by the desk until I found my favorite clothes; a white v-neck with long grey sleeves and a moderate black skirt. I put them on hastily, moving my wig around as necessary, and opened the door again. I moved out into the hallway, walking down the hallway into the living room. There was no umbrella next to the door. I frowned again at the certainty that my roommate wasn’t here. I just went into the kitchen to get a bowl of sugary cereal, and I saw a note on the fridge with my name on it. I forgot that I put that there. I often forget a lot of things. Sometimes, I forget that I’m forgetful. Anyway, it was just a note reminding me it was Crys’s birthday today. I rolled my eyes at myself and walked back to my room to send him a quick message.

AH: Hey it’s your birthday.

AH: Happy fucking birthday.

I didn’t even bother waiting for a reply, and for some reason, I knew that he probably wouldn’t even answer right now. Instead I looked at the time and opened the message window from Lynn, waiting for a typical good morning message.

HA: Good morning, Emma! ^-^

AH: Hey Lynn.

HA: How’re you today?

HA: And also, how’d you sleep?

HA: Uh, not trying to seem weird.

HA: I was just wondering if you were doing well.

AH: Yeah, I’m good, thanks for asking.

AH: Now what about you?

AH: Oh and don’t forget it’s Crys’s birthday today.

HA: I’m well as well. ^-^

HA: And there’s no way I would forget that.

HA: Why, did you forget it?

AH: Uh.

AH: No.

AH: Pfft how would I forget that.
