The old Captain stormed off, grumbling about how Nagisa and Karma were "stupid kids" for "losing" the recently discovered merman. "Are you alright Karma?" Nagisa asked his taller friend who adjusted his tie. "I'm perfectly fine. He's not the strongest I've butt heads with." The investigator grinned and began to run over to the opened box with the half-fish male inside."He's gone, let's go!" The red head grinned as he peeked over the edge of the open box.

"Uh, Karma? There's a problem." The bluenette said, pointing at the male who had fallen asleep in the box. But the biggest thing, was that he no longer had a tail.
"Fishboy! Come on, wake up! We gotta go!" The red head called, poking his face. "Quit that. I'm up now." The dark blue haired male growled. He sat up, feeling strange, only to look down and see that he now had human legs.

"What the— Did you two do this to me?! Why am I like you, wi-with you human legs?!" The male yelled. "Calm down fishboy, we don't know how you got legs but we didn't do anything." The red head explained. "But you surely can't walk around with only that cloth covering ya. I'll go look for some clothes. Nagisa, you keep watch in case the old man comes back." He added and ran off.

"Get down! Get down! Hide!" The shorter blue haired male whispered as the Captain came back into the building. "What're you doin' with my cargo boy?!" He yelled at Karma. "Just checking to see if your fishboy tried to hide in one of these crates. No luck so far." The red head grinned, lying through his teeth. "What are you doing back, Captain?" He asked.

"I came back to tell ya that you can forget about lookin' for that stupid fish. Ya already lost 'em so I don't trust ya wit' lookin' either. So ya better get lost by the time I get back." The Captain said. "Aye aye Captain." The taller red head joked with a salute. "Stupid kid." The old man grumbled and stormed off again. "Coast is clear! And I found some clothes for ya too fishboy!" The red head grinned, throwing a pile of clothes to the large male.

"My name isn't "fishboy" so quit calling me that." The male glared. "You never told us, so I'm just gonna keep calling you fishboy until you tell us." He grinned, receiving a sigh from the male before he signaled for the two to turn around while he put on the clothes. He stepped out of the crate and tapped their shoulders. "Why aren't you wearing the shirt?" Karma asked him before the taller male threw the shirt at him.

"Didn't fit. I'm sure it's fine if I don't have a shirt." The tall male said. "Things are different here, it's considered inappropriate if you don't have a shirt on unless it's under certain circumstances. Try this one." The red head explained as he tossed a different shirt at the male, who slipped it over his head to where it fit loosely. "Thanks." He mumbled. "No problem, now let's go before that old man gets back." The red haired investigator said and walked out with the other two following.

"(Y/n)." The male said abruptly. "What?" The shorter male asked. "My name. It's (Y/n)." The taller blue headed boy muttered. "Well then, (Y/n). I'm Karma. Nice to meet ya." The red head grinned at him. "I'm Nagisa, now we need to hurry because I can see one of the crew members behind us!" The short boy said quickly. The taller male hid behind the corner of a building while listening to the conversation.

"Hey, you both are the guys Captain brought to look at that half-fish person right?" The crew member asked. "Yep." Nagisa answered. "I heard he was mad about it breaking out of that tank thing. I just want to apologize for him, he probably'll try to sue you. The authorities know about him and I'm sure that won't happen since that thing isn't really his, so you both don't need to worry about him." He explained.

"Thank you, we appreciate it. Hope you have a good day." Karma grinned. "Right back at the both of you!" The crew member yelled as he ran off. (Y/n) sighed and walked out once he was gone.  §
"What is this abominable contraption?" The tall male asked. "You've never heard of a car before?" The red head chuckled. "It sounds evil." (Y/n) said. "Just get in. Once you sit down, close the door by pulling the handle." The blood haired male explained, the dark haired male reluctantly following instructions.

"Now put your seatbelt on, it's that black strip, move it over your torso and push the metal piece into that buckle in the seat." He explained and (Y/n) followed, managing to complete the task. Karma wasted no time to start his car and drive off.

§

"Alright, I just texted everyone and they'll all meet us at the old Campus." Nagisa explained as they drove. "The old what?" (Y/n) asked. "You really don't know about human culture do you?" Karma asked. "Well sorry I'm not educated, I thought you both would know that." (Y/n) said and slumped back into the seat. The rest of the car ride afterwards was silent between the three.

"We're here! Oh, also, (Y/n)! Follow me really quick." Karma said and looked back to see him struggling with the seatbelt, Nagisa going over to help him. After getting out of the car, (Y/n) followed Karma over to a large pool in the middle of the woods. (Y/n) was about to ask why he was led there but was cut off by Karma shoving him in. "What the hell was that for?!" He yelled.

"If we just tell the others you're a merman, they're not just going to believe it, so we need to show them! So just swim around in here until they get here at least." The red head grinned. "You enjoyed pushing me in, didn't you?" (Y/n) asked, unamused. "Yes, yes I did." Karma replied, shamelessly I might add. "I'm pretty sure Nagisa will figure you're here so I can stay here and make sure you stay here." He added.

(Y/n) sighed and dropped under the surface of the water, swimming around like back in the tank the Captain put him in. The difference being that this was much larger and (Y/n) was much more calm, not trying to break out. "Holy—What the hell is that thing?!" Someone yelled. "Oh! You guys are here!" Karma grinned. "(Y/n), get out here!" He yelled at the water. "Oh, so you named it now." A girl with ashy brown hair said.

"Are these the other humans you were talking about?" (Y/n) asked Karma as he pushed himself up, his tail still in the water. "Yep, these are my old classmates." The red head answered. "This is (Y/n), me and Nagisa found him earlier today." Karma explained, patting (Y/n)'s wet hair. "Don't pet me." The merman said, slapping Karma's hand away. "As you can tell he's a—" Karma was cut off by a ginger haired girl finishing his sentence.

"Merman!" She grinned and ran over to (Y/n). "Kurahashi! What are you doing?!" One of the others yelled. "Are they scared of me or something? I don't bite, I'm not an animal." (Y/n) spoke. "Are you a real merman?" Kurahashi asked, literal stars in her eyes. "Yes, do you want proof?" He asked, lifting the end of his tail above the water. "You're tail is so pretty!" The girl awed, (Y/n) was... surprised to say the least.

He wasn't really used to compliments that weren't related to his father or other siblings, he wasn't used to compliments about him specifically. "Um, thanks..." He trailed off, a slight red tint covering his cheeks. He could tell the red head was about to make a snarky remark so (Y/n) cut him off by splashing water at him, getting a small chuckle out of him.
