~The prologue~

Hogwarts- 1970
The young couple placed themselves on the withered grass below them, with the view of the Black Lake and their future ahead of them, they felt free.
Edward Tonks and Andromeda Black were just two, young and loved up sweethearts, holding each other close as their last few days of school approached. Both of them reminiscing on their days as Hogwarts students.
"I'm afraid of what my family would do to us Ted, to you mostly" the light brunette, young adult bespoke. She was more than afraid, she was shaking inside- trying so hard to not show it to her lover.

You see, Andromeda Tonks was the daughter of 'The Noble Black Family'. The family that was the wealthiest, largest and and filthiest in the wizarding community. The Black's were known to only allow pure blooded witches and wizards into their genealogy, casting aside those who went against their wishes or was born magic-less. Being brought up in the nightmarish household, brought a great deal of rules to Andromeda and her two sisters- her older sister Bellatrix and younger sister Narcissa, stating that they must stick with their family principles by performing dark arts, not interacting with blood traitors or marrying a muggle.
But Andromeda was different than them, different to those who she called sisters as-well. The middle daughter had met a muggle born wizard in her first years of Hogwarts, trying her hardest to keep the relationship away from the fellow Slytherin students she sat besides on the Great hall table or the couches in the emerald, dark common room. The woman who resembled her older sister- Bellatrix, fell in love with a "blood traitor", a man she wished to marry but was apprehensive on what her family would do to them, to him.

Andromeda never wanted to be like her family, or those who she use to look up to. She wanted to be similar all the other witches she strolled passed in the corridors, with the only worries of theirs being the O.W.L.S or having a date to Hogsmeade, not performing in the dark arts, becoming evil and marrying a cousin of hers to keep her up right and an heir to the blood relations.
She wanted only one thing and that was the young man in front of her, Ted Tonks- a popular, humble and kind hearted Hufflepuff who brought more into her life than the dastardly. Ted would not be approved by Meda's parents, the dirty blonde with muggle parents wouldn't be accepted into the dark and cold arms of The Black's.

If word ever got out from her Slytherin peers of the school kids relationship, all hell could break lose. This isn't what they wanted, this isn't what she wanted.
She just wanted to be normal.

"Meda, I cannot promise you the largest manor, nor the most wealthiest lifestyle but I can offer and promise you my care, my companionship and my love for you. I understand if you would want to end the relationship of ours but I am willing to fight for you" the boy in his black and yellow robes declared.

From the moment Andromeda spoke her first words to him, Ted knew she was the one. The one who he would spend his life with, cherish and love. The girl ran through his mind with every breath he took, every time he blinked and every moment his heart beat.
It was her.

Ted didn't want to give up his love for her, but he knew how horrid her family was from the stories she unfolded throughout the years. It was hard for her to tell anyone anything, to let anyone in but she allowed him in and opened up.
The young man never wanted harm to come her way, what the family would do to her. He wanted them all to come together in peace and be a family. He wanted to be a family with her, have children, get married and grow old together.
He had been wanting that since the first time he looked at her.

*Seven and a half years earlier*
It was the first week of Hogwarts for Edward Tonks and the first year students. Finding his way around the castle was horrendous, accidentally walking into the older years classes instead of his own had become a multiple occurrence for Ted.
