"Hey, Jacobs!" said Karl's teacher. He snapped his fingers to get Karl's attention. "Up here, man, gotta pay attention." Karl came back from space and began copying down the notes on the board. The back of his mind was still itching with the thought of Nick. (He thought of him as Nick because he liked it better and it felt more personal than Sapnap.) He was ecstatic about his new friend. He decided on asking him to come over after school today.
He could already tell they were going to be close. Especially when Nick complimented his nails. No one ever really hated on his nails, but no one complimented them either. The wholesome thought sent chills down his spine, his stomach filling with butterflies. Karl grinned to himself and shook the feeling off. He counted down the minutes of his class and sped off to his locker as soon as he was dismissed. He grabbed his things as quickly as possible in order to get to Sapnap before he left.
Sapnap closed his locker and was surprised to see Karl heading towards him. Karl smiled excitedly.
"Hey, Sapnap!" Karl said. Sapnap smiled.
"Hey, Karl," he replied. Karl leaned against the locker next to Sapnap's.
"I was wondering... did you maybe wanna come over to my place for a bit?" he asked, nervously. Sapnap's eye's widened. His nerves went through the roof.
"Uh, sure," he said. Karl's eyes lit up with joy.
"Yay! Come on!" he cheered as he linked his arm through Sapnap's to guide him to his car. Once again, Sapnap got nervous. He felt immense butterflies in his stomach when Karl touched him.
They got into Karl's car and Karl opened up another can of Monster. This one had a light blue can. Sapnap looked at him with his eyebrows furrowed.
"Another one?" he questioned. Karl giggled, nodding. "Damn, that's a lot of caffeine," said Sapnap.
"Well, that's what happens when you're addicted to monster haha," said Karl, matter-of-factly. Sapnap nodded in understanding. Soon enough they arrived at Karl's house. It was fairly close to the school. Karl parked in his driveway and got out of the car. Sapnap followed. He noticed right away the vastness of Karl's residency. Even the front door was huge. Suddenly his thoughts were interrupted by the remembrance to text his mom that he wouldn't be home. He stopped at the front door as Karl opened it to grab his phone.
"Come on," said Karl, wrapping an arm around Sapnap to pull him into his house.
"Sorry, I just forgot to text my mom that I was coming here," said Sapnap, still looking down at his phone. Karl closed the door and Sapnap finally looked up. His jaw dropped at the sight of Karl's beautiful home. Glass and marble and stone and hard-wood floors.
"Holy shit, Karl. Your house is awesome. You must have tons of parties here," he stated. Karl's face heated. He knew his house was gorgeous and got compliments all the time, but the way Sapnap said things and the way his face looked as he admired all of the features of his home made his heart flutter. He scratched the back of his neck nervously.
"Uh, yeah. Actually, look," he said and grabbed Sapnap's wrist to lead him to the living room. It was littered with empty solo cups, beer bottles and a large garbage bag full of the same. Sapnap looked at Karl in confusion.
"Still cleaning from the party I had Saturday," Karl explained. He had a party every Saturday because both of his parents were gone every week from Saturday to Tuesday. Those were the days they had to work in the office for the realtor company they worked for. The office building was pretty far, though, so they stayed in a condo. The other days of the week were spent showing houses and spending time with Karl.
"Oh, well, I can help finish up," offered Sapnap, already heading towards the garbage bag. Karl grinned sheepishly.
"Thanks," he said. He walked over to help Sapnap with the trash. When they were finished, Karl showed Sapnap to his bedroom.
Once again Sapnap stood in awe. One wall was basically all glass, with a door leading out to a decent sized balcony that looked over a huge backyard with an in-ground pool. The furniture in the room consisted of a simple bed with dark gray bedding, a white desk with a sick gaming set-up, a closet with lot's of hoodies and over-sized sweaters, a stack of shoe boxes in one corner, and a small table with a Monster mini-fridge on it. Sapnap loved it. He loved the aesthetic and knew that Karl was to become one of his closest friends.
"So, speaking of parties, you should start coming to them. Every Saturday you are free. If you want," Karl stammered. Sapnap just made him so flustered. Sapnap slowly nodded.
"I mean, yeah, okay," he agreed. He was so excited and hyped up inside. It was difficult not to let it show. All of a sudden, he couldn't wait for Saturday to arrive.
