An Awkward Dinner

Vanessa's pov

"You sure you don't want me to come with you?" Brad asks again if he can come with me to dinner my parents

I was putting on my necklace and turned to him "and your sweet for that but I think I can handle them for a night" I said

He walks towards me "okay then, just call me if something goes wrong" he says looking me up and down

I blushed at that action "hey! Eyes up here Simpson" I said

He laughs "I would say sorry but you look beautiful, how can't I check you out" he says

"okay just do it when I'm not looking" I said and he nods

I grabbed my bag from the bed "I gotta go, lov-i mean I'll see you later" I said giving him a quick kiss

Since I heard him say 'I love you' last night I couldn't get it out of my head and I was gonna say it to him, what am I doing? I haven't been able to say i love you since high school and yes I said high school.

I would've said it to Xander but hes a jerk. My thoughts got interrupted by the cab driver

I payed him and said thank you then got inside the restaurant. As I entered I immediately saw my parents and a decently good looking man with them who I didn't know

I got to the table and smiled politely at the my parents and the mysterious man "I thought we're the ones who was to have dinner" I said to mom

"oh sorry, this is Luke King" my dad says

I smiled at the Luke "nice to meet you" I said

"nice to meet you too, your parents says your beautiful I didn't think you'd be this beautiful" he says with a very recognizable accent

"Australian?" I say surprise "and why did my mom and dad talked about me with you?"

My parents looked at each other proudly "Vanessa this is was not a family dinner, it was a blind date" my mom says

I laughed loudly but I stopped as soon as they looked at me seriously "wait you guys are serious?" I said getting a bit mad

"yes I know right, he is the perfect guy..he is well educated, well successful and look at him he's a good looking guy-"

"no mom I'm not doing this" I sai cutting her off

"why not your a single girl" she says

I thought about my answer and I remembered Brad popping up in my thoughts "I'm not-well not-it's kind of complicated" I say

"well if it's complicated then try with Luke" my dad jumps in

I look at Luke and back at my parents "fine but if I don't like him by the end of this date, I will never trust you guys again" I said

My parents smiled and left without saying goodbye, I turned to Luke again and I gotta say he's a good looking guy but he's not Brad

"so what did my parents told you about me?"

"well alot to be honest, and by the stories I've been told I already like you" he says

"wow, very smooth Luke" I muttered

"look Vanessa I agreed to go on a blind date because I think your great and I think this can work" he says surprising me

"okay your nailing this first date dude, your already talking about dating me we don't even know each other-I don't know you"

"yes I know but I promise I can treat you right and make you smile every day-"

"You know who else said that? My ex boyfriend Xander and he was a dick"

"yeah I know about Xander, your mother told me about him-"

"she what?"

"yes and I know everything about you and that scares you"

"You bet that scares me, your literally a stranger to me....this was supposed to be a blind date not a proposal"

"well if you want to get-"

"oh my God, your crazy-my parents are crazy for setting this up" I grabbed my stuff and stood up "I'm sorry but this was a mistake, my parents shouldn't be involve you in my personal life, I was good meeting you anyway" I said quickly leaving

I got into a cab and finally arrived at the apartment and immediately saw the boys and Leslie talking as soon as enter the living room

"hey how was-"

"don't even finish that sentence Evans" I say cutting Tristan off "I'm sorry I just-I'm having a bad night" I said sitting next to Blake

"why what happened?" Brad asked across from me so he's is facing me

"uhh, it's kinda bad"

"we can deal with bad" Blake says beside me

I sigh "they set me up on a blind date with a guy named Luke " I said and they look at me surprised well except Brad he looks hurt

"they did what?" Leslie says absolutely outraged

"they lied to you about dinner with them?" James says

"yeah I know, absolutely crazy" I said

"I'll be right back" Brad says going out the apartment

Everyone looks at me like I should follow him "go you lunatic" Leslie says and I quickly getting up from the couch grabbing a jacket first because it's cold outside

I stepped out of the apartment building and I immediately saw Brad sitting on a step

"hey"i say sitting next to him

" hi"he says softly

"are you mad-"

"yes I'm mad-pissed actually, how dare they-how dare him for agreeing" he says

I laughed silently and he looks at me "what is wrong with you I'm mad and your laughing at me"

"I'm laughing at you because your jealous" I said pushing him by the shoulder with my shoulder

He scoffs "what-no I'm not"

"totally jealous" I said still laughing a little bit "look Brad I didn't finish the date I left him at the restaurant"

"why?"

"well because I already like someone else"

He doesn't answer just look at me "you! I like you" I said and he smiles widely

"You bailed him because o-"

"because of you"

He smiles and kisses me "I like you too" he says

I lean on his shoulder and he puts an around me "only you" I said
