It was a time like this that the brunette was thankful that he was skilled in climbing trees, because most werewolves couldn't, even in their human forms. So he sat there, back against the rough surface of the trees bark as he pressed his hand against the wound on his side. Blood seeped through the cracks between his fingers and dripped onto the bark and forest floor. The sound of bones snapping caught his attention, and he realized that the warriors were shifting.

"WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?" An angered voice shouted but the brunette was growing weaker by the minute, unable to respond.

"GET THE HELL OUT OF THAT TREE!" A different one screamed. The brunette sighed before his breath hitched in his throat. His adrenaline was now a thing of the past, and his senses were overwhelmed with pain.

His skin and veins felt as if they were engulfed in fire, his side throbbed, his heart clenched. Breathing didn't seem like an option. It hurt more and more with every breath he took, and he coughed, the metallic tangy taste of the crimson substance making its way onto his tongue. But more importantly, he was overwhelmed with the pain of seeing his family killed in front of him. More tears flooded his vision, as he choked lightly on his sobs.

"Get the Head Alpha." Another one ordered, probably the leader of the patrol unit and bones snapping could be heard once again before the warrior took off.

The beta ran as quick as he could back to the pack house. Shifting midway as he ran towards the house. Without knocking he bolted inside and raced to the Head Alpha's office where he knew he'd be. This time he knocked, and waited for the familiar 'come in' to go inside.

"Kanghyun what's wr-" The beta cut off the Alpha as he panted.

"T-there's an intruder on the western side of the forest. We tried to detain him but he climb up into a tree and won't come down." Kanghyun explained quickly. "Hyunjoon told me to come get you. The intruder seems powerful." That was all the Head Alpha needed to hear before standing up.

"Felix, Hyunjin, and Seungmin. Meet me outside the pack house immediately. We have a situation." The Head Alpha ordered through the mind link as he followed the beta back outside.

"Yes Chan." "Yes Alpha." "Sure Chief." The three spoke in unison through the mind link.

Just as Chan requested, the three boys were outside the pack house waiting for him, with curious expressions.

"What's going on?" Seungmin asked as they started to follow Kanghyun into the forest with Chan in the middle of them.

"Intruder on the western side of the forest. Refused to be detained and climbed a tree and wont get down." Kanghyun muttered and Felix let out a stifled laugh.

"Never thought a werewolf could climb a tree." However, saying this was a lie. Felix did know a werewolf who could climb trees with ease, other than himself of course. Maybe that's why his heart was racing in his chest.

The further they walked into the forest, the stronger an intoxicating scent became. It was the smell of cinnamon hearts. It didn't take long for them to arrive at the place where Kanghyun left his patrol squad. They were all in their human forms, shorts covering their bottoms as they muscular chests were exposed. The patrol squad were standing at the bottom of the tree as Chan walked up to them.

"What's the situation now?" Chan asked, causing the leader of squad to look at him. They all bowed to their Head Alpha.

"The Rogue is unresponsive. Climbed the tree when I tried to detain him, and hasn't responded to us or come down." The Alpha stated and Chan nodded. Then he realized something, just as Felix, Hyunjin, and Seungmin noticed it as well.

"Something smells heavily of blood. Are any of you injured?" Seungmin asked, looking around at the warriors, who shook their heads.

Hyunjin looked up as something dripped onto his face. He had been standing directly beneath the tree, trying to see if he could spot the rogue. However, he was only met with something warm dripping onto his face. He brought his hand up to his face and wiped it off, pulling his hand back to see blood smeared on it.

"Uh Chan?" He called turning around and showing them the blood on his hand and face. "It dripped on me from up there." Hyunjin stated and Chan widened his eyes. He immediately looked up, trying to spot the rogue in the tree. Which was difficult since the brunette had been wearing a torn dark grey long sleeve, and dark jeans. However, being the Pure Blood Alpha he was, Chan spotted him after some time.

Then Hyunjin, Felix, and him heard it. Pained, shaky, shallow breaths from above. The small choked sobs that followed.

"Did any of you fucking realize he was injured? Did any of you try to talk to him and see why he was trespassing?" Chan asked angrily. "Or did you attack first, scaring him?" The silence that followed gave him his answer and he glared harshly at the patrol squad.

"I have told you countless times that if someone trespasses and are INJURED come and get me right away! Ask if they're okay! Get your ignorant ass's back to the pack. Your shift is over." Chan ordered and they bowed before running off.

Chan turned to the Pure Blood Omega beside him, noticing the boys expression. It was as if he was remembering something painful as his face contorted in sadness.

"Felix, can you climb up there and see if they can get down? Please?" Chan asked the Omega softly who looked at him with a small nod.

"Yeah. Jinnie give me a boost." Felix said and Hyunjin did just that. He boosted the shorter up and they watched as he skillfully climbed the tree.

The blonde slipped a few times but kept his footing and regained his balance quickly. The smell of blood and the scent of cinnamon hearts got stronger and stronger as he climbed up. Something in the back of his mind told him that whatever he was about to see, was going to hurt him deeply. And that feeling was right.

Twelve branches up and the blonde froze at the sight in front of him. The brunette sat on a branch just above him, a deep red stream dripping through the cracks in the bark, his hand was covered in blood, as the same crimson liquid tainted his lips. He looked deathly pale, his body shaking as tears rolled down his slightly chubby cheeks. The brunette looked like he was in so much pain, too much pain and yet when he noticed the blonde, he still tried to push himself away, no matter how weak he was becoming. But Felix felt frozen. Because the brunette was no stranger, no dirty threatening rogue.

It was none other than his platonic soulmate, his childhood best friend from the pack he once called home.
