Mitch was content living in denial. More content now than he maybe had ever been in his life. He did what Scott had told him to do; focused on school. He was surprised he was loving it. Instead of working, he had free time for the first time since he started college. He would go to class, do homework, go perform a couple of gigs a week and all the rest of the time he would get to spend with Scott. It felt like a dream.

He kind of refused to address the elephant in the room, and right now he didn't mind, but the only thing that bothered him was that Scott clearly was avoiding it too. He was around him enough to catch on to things without them having to talk. The farewell tour was supposed to start two months after Kirstin's stint on Broadway, which gave them about four more months together. Scott was furiously writing music and was constantly sitting at his piano. And was always on the phone talking to important people about important sounding things.

Mitch always listened from afar. And when he was done, Mitch would watch him switch out of 'businessman' and straight back into 'laidback boyfriend'. It was helping make their relationship smooth right now.

For the month that they had been together, things felt very casual between them. Mitch would go over to his place when he could and they would spend time together. On rare occasions, Scott would go to his place. Though, to Mitch, it didn't feel as homey or inviting as it used to. Not since Baz left to stay with Ellie in Texas. They didn't usually go out but Mitch could understand why. With Scott singing with him and tagging him in some pictures, his own social medias were getting some more exposure. And with that came rumors.

Scott wasn't all that interested in public affection.

The most that Mitch got was a pinky hold in public nowadays. He wasn't mad about it though. People would come up to him after his gigs just to ask about Scott and their relationship. Clearly, Scott knew what he was doing when he said he didn't want people to know anything yet.

Scott wasn't technically keeping this tour a secret from him. He talked about it freely with the band in front of him, he just hadn't sat down and talked about what it meant for them and it made Mitch really nervous. All he could go off of was his actions. He wanted to trust him when he said they would get things figured out for him after he graduates. And when he says how much he likes him and likes spending time with him.

So, all he had resorted to doing was living life like the person he was falling for wasn't about to leave him behind for the second time. And attempting to write songs in his spare time for whenever Scott came asking for them.

He didn't realize he had been zoned out while watching a movie, his heavy sigh getting the attention of the blonde next to him.

"You okay?"

Mitch turned his head slightly, not enough to look away from the screen. "Yeah."

He felt Scott's hand slide from where it was resting on his arm up to his shoulder as he sat forwards a little. It lifted and Mitch was forced to turn his head as his chin was grabbed. "What's on your mind?"

Scott's brows were furrowed, his eyes focused on his lips before flicking up to his eyes.

He didn't want to lie, but he didn't want to talk about it. "Just, thinking about school."

Scott nodded his understanding. "Only two more weeks."

"I know." Mitch was excited and nervous about that. Happy to have plans to see the people he loved though. And spend time with his parents.
