Elizabeth told Emma that she would walk with her to her Aunt Wendy’s afterschool. The whole day went in a blur for Emma. She was not paying attention to the lectures and felt like she was invisible to the teachers. Emma was more focused on the constant thudding noise she kept on hearing through the whole day including lunch.
Finally, the school day was over and Emma was determined to find Elizabeth. Emma could not find Elizabeth by her locker or in the library. She was thinking that Elizabeth might have forgotten. Emma gave up and started to head out the main door of the building. Emma walked by an empty classroom with a couple girls inside giggling. She stopped to eavesdrop and she heard the voices of the Flowers and Elizabeth.
Poppy: Elizabeth, We are giving you a once in a lifetime chance to become a Flower.
Elizabeth: What about Emma?
Petunia snarled: Who cares? She is a loony girl talking like the Mad Hatter.
Emma heard a footstep from behind her and discovered that the person who made the footstep was Pansy. Pansy pushed Emma into the classroom with the other Flowers inside and closed the door.
Poppy laughed: Look what the cat dragged in.
Poppy went through Emma’s bag and found her diary.
Emma started to cry and then screamed: STOP!
Poppy opened the diary and snickered: I wish I moved away from here and lived in a magical place. I hate being a teenager. Love, Emma. How touching!
Elizabeth busted out laughing with the Flowers. Emma pushed Pansy and Pansy released her grasp from Emma. Emma pushed Poppy on the floor, grabbed her diary from Poppy’s hand, and threw her bag on her back. Emma ran out the classroom door and looked straight at Elizabeth.
Elizabeth: Emma!! Please wait-
Emma yelled: FIND A NEW BEST FRIEND!!
Emma rushed outside not knowing what to do; so Emma decided to take the long way to her Aunt Wendy’s house which went by the football field. When Emma arrived by the football field she was stopped by Dean, and he noticed she was crying.
Dean: What’s wrong?
Emma: Cannot talk Dean, I have to go babysit, and I am already late.
Dean: Just tell me now while we are walking.
Emma asked: Don’t you have practice?
Dean barely smiled: Well a friend is more important than a sport.
Emma told Dean the whole story.
Dean: My sister is a wicked hag. I will talk to her if you-
Emma: Don’t even bother. She will not be my friend anymore.
They finally arrived at her Aunt Wendy’s home.
Dean: Need a hug?
Emma hugged Dean and thanked him. Emma walked into the home and found Aunt Wendy. Emma had to retell the story to Aunt Wendy and begged her to not to tell her mother.
Aunt Wendy smiled: It is up to you dear. Did you bring your nightgown?
Emma paused: I forgot my nightgown! I am so sorry, I will just sleep in my uniform.
Aunt Wendy laughed: Not to worry dear, I have a perfect nightgown that you can borrow. I wore when I was your age and it is a pretty blue colour that will match skin tone wonderfully.
