JANUARY 2020 (Before Corona)
The warm sunlight kissed Jeongguk's skin through the thin fabric of his curtains that hang above his window. A tiny yawn escaped past his lips as he lazily stretched his body and rubbed his eyes, welcoming the sight of the sunlight that pierced through him. He slowly rose from the bed, tiredness still filling his body.
A sudden realization hit Jeongguk like a truck as he finally came to his senses.
It's my seventeenth birthday today!
Jeongguk smiled widely and immediately looked at the clock. 7:09 am. Damn, I'm finally seventeen now I'm getting old.
He fastened his pace to the bathroom to wash himself up and finish his routine. After he's done, he excitedly went downstairs, a fresh smell of pancakes and toasted bread filled his nose immediately as the scent of it linger around the kitchen.
"My birthday boy! Happy seventeenth birthday," His grandmother, Lulu, welcomed him with a big smile plastered on her face. She went up to him, giving a lot of kisses on his forehead. Jeongguk laughs.
"Grandma, stop!"
His grandma coos at the sight of him. "You are now big. Look at you!" She praised him. She couldn't believe that her one and only grandchild is now growing up to be a fine man.
Jeon Jeongguk. The seventeen year old male, the oh so handsome male that has all the girls and boys flock all over him. With his defined muscles, and his jawline that could cut your skin in a snap, a face that resembles a Greek god alongside with his manly scent and looks, who wouldn't fall in love with him?
The now seventeen year old ravenette smiled widely at his grandma, showing his teeth that resembled a bunny. "Yeah I'm a big boy but I'm still your baby grandma."
Jeongguk has the closest bond with his grandma. He is closer too to his dad. The three of them live in a big house, enough for the three of them to live. He has lived with them ever since his mother died in an accident. The memories of his mom are faded, he can only remember some of his moments with her before she died. The raven haired male has had his grandma as his mother figure ever since.
Jeongguk's father appeared from the main room, a big smile on his face as he held the chocolate cake in front of him. He came up to the two singing a happy birthday song.
"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you," his father, Jungwon sings. Jeongguk ran up to him and hugged him. "Thank you, dad! Woah," he examined the chocolate cake before looking up both of them. "I love you guys. Thank you so much."
Jeongguk feels euphoric. Every year he gets to experience this. His precious grandma and his father are always giving him surprises. Happiness filled him. Even though he lost his mother a few years ago, at least he have the most important people in his life. His father and his precious grandma. He hoped they could stay together like this forever.
But he didn't know this would be the last time he would spend time with them as a family.
The whole morning passed and now Jeongguk is in his class doing nothing as their teacher wasn't in their room yet. A male with blonde hair shorter than him approached him and gave him a pat on his shoulder and smiled, "Hey happy birthday bitch! Another year closer to death sheesh,"
Jeongguk rolls his eyes at him, "Thanks Jimin."
Park Jimin, his best friend, gave him a smile and sat down beside him. Jimin snickers, "So about the party tonight. You ready?"
Jeongguk immediately smirked at him. The party is about his birthday anyway. "Of course Jimin, I wouldn't miss it .It's my party after all, right?"
"Yeah right but still make sure to bring a damn fake ID as you're still seventeen dude even though you look like a guy in his early twenties. I don't trust those bouncers." Jimin said.
