Deku POVFlashback
I walked towards the window of the control room in the arena. Kirishima and I were told to look and see for ourselves y/no's ability to control her quirk. Last time I saw it, or her even, was during the incident. Where she had no control whatsoever of her power. Almost like how I felt with One for All. Back then, it looked as though she was overflowing with that power and didn't know what to do with it. But from the look of whats in front of me. That is no longer the case.
Y/n no longer had her eye covered. Both were glowing yellow like before but just the iris and not the full eye. She was wearing a white tank top and shorts, no shoes or socks. Instead of hovering over the ground like before she was firmly standing still. Doing so while projectiles are coming at her from every direction. She held a calm expression and jumped quickly into the air. The spot on the ground she jumped from cracking once with a small spark. She jumped above the arena entirely, avoiding every projectile.
Woah! That was high! She didn't even break a sweat!
Kirishima exclaimed.
Is her quirk electricity related?
I asked, confused.
Well, no. Not inherently. We don't have a current explanation for that. Looking at recordings from the camp, it's been happening ever since the incident in the beginning.
Aisawa sensei responded.
It seems she has a lot of control for being blind while using her quirk.
I mumbled.
About that. I just recently got more information from our eyes in America. About the type of training y/n did during her time there. It's not very pleasant. And it seems she was particularly trained to not need her vision to use her quirk.
Nezu said shaking his head.
What do you mean?
Kirishima asked, turning away from the window.
Well, it being a camp for juveniles and connected to American prison systems, they often worked with inmates. They trained and perfected their quirk strategies by killing deathrow inmates. They would put the prisoners in abandoned buildings and areas and made the children hunt them down like prey. The more you killed, the more points. The more points, the faster you get to leave. I don't know all the details though.
He responded, upset.
So that means, that y/n is a murderer... right?
Kirishima stated questioningly.
In a sense, yes. But I am aware of the various mind controlling techniques they use at those types of camps. For example, the incident she got that scar from, was caused by her being forcefully convinced of something regarding the attack that started it all. I have the security footage of the incident. But it's, very graphic. Same with the footage of the point earning system.
Nezu sighed.
Wait so y/n doesn't remember any of that?
I asked, completely astonished by what I was hearing.
No. I believe her memories were tampered with. The time line and events from her memories don't match up with the evidence we have here.
He answered.
But there's also the possibility she's lying to us.
Aisawa mumbled.
What? Y/n wouldn't do that! If what Principal Nezu said about her time at the camp is true, then that means she did everything she could to get back here! It's obvious she came back for Kacchan!
I yelled, upset at Aisawa Sensei's accusation.
Yeah but what if she's still mad at him about the attack. Sure he didn't start it but he provoked her verbally. Maybe she blames him and is here for some sort of revenge.
Kirishima said shyly.
There's no way! Y/n isn't like that! Don't accuse her of anything! You don't know her like I do!
I stated, angry at the group in front of me.
Midoryia, you haven't talked to or seen her for years. You might not know who she is anymore.
Aisawa countered.
I sat there thinking to myself.
~Maybe he's right. I haven't interacted with her in years. Maybe she has changed. But she would never do anything to Kacchan. She never blamed him for what happened. Right?
End of Flashback
Nezu told Kirishima and I to come back tomorrow after school. He'd introduce Kirishima to y/n first. They'd spar a little, and I'll be there in case he needs help or can't handle her power. But on the walk back to the dorms I couldn't help think about the slight possibility of y/n faking her memories.
Hey Midoryia? That's the same girl that was on the news the other day right? When bakugo had a panic attack?
Kirishima asked, breaking my thoughts.
Yeah. Her, kacchan and I were close friends in elementary and middle school. Kacchan and I were close but him and y/n had a different type of connection. They ignored their feelings for each other. Which I think caused the accident. Y/n loved Kacchan and I. She never wouldve attacked us or put us in danger. In fact, at the time, she was defending me from Kacchan that day. But what he said to her, caused her to lose it.
I responded, trying to make him understand y/n isn't a bad person.
From how she acted on the news, I would've said she was acting like bakugo. She even called the people around her extras.
He laughed.
Yeah. It's funny though, he got that from her. She was never obnoxiously cocky or anything, but she had so much self confidence. Let alone her confidence in me and Kacchan. She never called me quirkless and always said I could still be a hero even if I didn't get one. She was also Kacchan's biggest fan. He was actually a lot more chill when she was around. Like you, she was one of the only people who could control his anger. But when she had to leave, he broke down. They weren't allowed to see each other, and his confidence dwindled. I believe how he is now is an act to cover up that insecurity.
I muttered, not thinking about what I was saying.
Uh Midoryia-
Kirishima started.
Hey nerd! What the hell are you talking about?
Kacchan roared from the porch of the Dormitory.
Ack! K-Kacchan! Why are you-
I stuttered, startled.
Shut up! I don't care! Shitty hair, where were you?
He yelled, ignoring me.
Uh we had a talk with Aisawa sensei! Yeah we're gonna help train a new student!
Kirishima spouted nervously, rubbing his neck.
~Kirishima! Why would you tell him that!
Tch. Whatever.
Kacchan replied, eyeing the both of us before walking back inside.
~It's not fair. Kacchan needs y/n as much and she needs him. They shouldn't hide her from him or him from her.
