Chapter Fifty One

I woke up the next morning, sprawled out in someone’s bed who wasn’t mine. I rubbed my eyes and sat up, noticing that Harry was no longer next to me.

I heard the shower on in the bathroom, and I sighed. I laid back down on the bed, yawning. What did I do? I went home with Harry. I slept in his bed, for God’s sake. I told him I loved him, even if he didn’t hear me.

I took care of him. I should have just gotten one of the boys to take him home.

My phone started to ring.

“Hello?” I asked, groggily.

“Jamie, I’ve been trying to get you all day. I wanted to have breakfast,” Mitchell said, frantically. Oh God. I felt awful. It was my day off today, and I didn’t even think of spending it with my boyfriend.

Add that to the list of things I’m a douche bag for.

“I’m so sorry,” I said, apologetically. “I overslept, and I should have thought about you, Mitch.”

“No, don’t worry,” he told me. He was way too good for me. “Where are you anyways?”

“I’m at Louis’s.” It wasn’t a complete lie.

“With Louis?”

“Yeah…” I said, my voice trailing. “Why?”

“Nothing…” he said, after a moment. “It’s just…Louis called me five minutes ago and asked if you were with me.”

Well, fuck. I’m screwed. This is what happens to people who lie. It bites them back.

“I…I’m sorry,” I apologized.

“Hey, you’re up,” Harry said, from the doorway.

Oh my God. Worst timing in the FREAKIN’ WORLD. I shook my head vigorously, but Mitchell had already heard him.

“Is that Harry?” Mitchell’s voice was quiet. Oh no.

“Erm. Yeah…”

“Jamie, were you with him last night?”

“I only took him home because he was drunk, Mitch. I promise, nothing happened!”

He didn’t say anything.

“Mitch, please. You know you can trust me.”

“Then, why did you lie and say you were with Louis? You were covering up, and that means you’re guilty!”

“Mitch, I’m not! Please, please believe me!”

There was silence.

“I have to go,” he said, and then hung up before I could say anything.

“Ugh, shit,” I mumbled, throwing Harry’s covers off me. “Fuck, Harry. Why did you have to go and speak?”

“Well, sorry that your boyfriend doesn’t trust you!”

I rolled my eyes and got off the bed. I started to walk towards the bathroom, and I noticed that Harry was barely wearing anything. Just a towel around his waist, and his hair was dripping wet.

Wow, talk about deja vu. This was like when we were in the hotel, and he fell on me after taking a shower.

“Stop, Jamie,” he said, putting his hand on my shoulder.

“I have to pee.” I was being blunt, but I didn’t care.

“Do you remember…last night?”
