"Stop bouncing your knee. We'll do great today. I promise," Stiles told me putting his hands over my knee. It's out first lax game of the season and I'm freaking out.
"You never tell a girl to stop doing her bad habit. It's like telling a little kid that they're gonna die before becoming a legend," I said staring him down and bouncing my other knee. He moved in front of me and put is hands on both my knees, stopping them from bouncing.
"With you as our captain and goalie, there's no way in hell we'll lose. You do what you did during practice on Monday with Scott. There isn't anyway they'd beat us," He told me encouragingly.
"Thanks Sti-Sti. I really needed that," I told him taking a deep breath and letting it go. I smiled at him and grabbed both his hands.
"No problem Mylly. Just remember I'll be on the other side of that field trying to score."
He gave my hands one more encouraging squeeze and we both made our to the field. You, Mylia-Dylyn, can do this. You are what this team has been missing. You are who's going to take them to state and make Coach Finstock proud.
~Last three seconds of the game~
"GO FOR IT !" I heard Coach yell from the sidelines. I saw the same move Scott's team played when we did the scrimmage. This is your shot Mylia. Go for it. I ran and did my double handspring and caught the ball before my oponent could, chucking it towards the other end making the goal right as the buzzard rang. The crowd was going nuts as my team ran up to me. Stiles ran and picked me up, throwing me on his shoulders.
"14! 14! 14!" the team started chanting. Our team won 14-0. I was smiling like there was tomorrow. That's when I saw him. My father. I guess Stiles saw my face fall cause he put me back on the floor and dragged me to the sideline.
