The classroom was barren. Not a soul was present. The steadfast breeze swept through the air making eerie noises as it swooshed past my ear. All that I had sitting on my desk was a box and a pack of coloured crayons. The crayons looked brand-new but it was open, unlike the box. The crayons themselves were stacked unevenly and the colours were not organized. I looked into the black box to see blank pieces of paper. Maybe I was supposed to draw. I shuffled through each piece making sure all were blank. Near the bottom of the pile, I came across one that had been written on. The words that laid upon the page read YOU'RE NOT ALONE. I gracefully placed the paper aside while I continued to the bottom of the box. The box contained a small note taped to the last piece of paper. It also read YOU'RE NOT ALONE. I shivered. I pushed my chair back and stood up. How did I even end up here? Wasn't it summer break? I slowly tip-toed towards the door attempting to open it. Locked. I looked throughout the class searching behind bookcases and desks. There was only one note left; FIND YOUR WAY OUT. I smashed open the door with my desk to find the school with no lights.

I roamed the halls finding all the windows and doors that led to the outside being blocked by heavy metal plates. I then found another classroom door. Locked. I smashed the door open to find another kid sleeping on his desk. What's going on? I'm not alone. There was a fire extinguisher box by the side. A note was attached that had the words KILL THEM scribbled on. Was this a hunger game type competition? That was when the kid woke up. I opened the box and found an axe. Why me?

"H-huh? Who are you!" questioned the boy.

"Ah-don't ugh, mind me." I quickly responded with no effort to conceal my axe.

"What's that in your hands? Where are we? Where's everyone else?" The boy kept throwing question after question.

"Look, the school seems to be on shut down or someth'n but I'm sure that there are other kids looking to kill us," I tried to sound calm and collect but the kid just started in shock.

"So you mean, you're gonna kill me?"

A scream echoed through the halls while we both looked around.

"We've gotta get going," I said. The boy stood up and slowly shuffled towards me. "So kid, what's your name?"

"It's Jay," the boy shyly replied, "what about you?"

"It's Pam," I said. I smiled and continued to search. This school seemed to be a different school because the halls were slightly different and the school looked enormous. I found a map that showed most of the school; half of the sign was broken off. The school looked to be the size of 10 stadiums. A loud sound ringed through the halls. The intercom. A soothing voice began to speak.

"Hello children, we know all of you have awoken and most likely know the situation. Some of you may be slower than others but we also have one student who has completed the first task; to kill another student."

"What is this lady saying?" Jay whined.

"As all of you probably guessed, we have cameras located across the building. We advise you NOT to break them. The goal of this experiment is to test whether the human brain, even as it's developing, still reacts with the instincts of our ancestors."

I was already running to find another classroom to hide in, pulling Jay along with me. "We need a plan or something. I don't want any of us dead right now."

"Do I get a weapon?" he asked.

"Yeah, sure, I think there should be another around the cor-" I was knocked down by something. I looked up to see another boy sitting on top of me with a knife. Where's my axe? Jay swiftly took the axe and screamed.
