The Invitation

"Okay, so we sent out invitations for the meeting to 50 Alphas and one Rogue King. Although, I highly doubt Randolph and his allies will attend. You know how he is."

A complete fucking psycho.

"Yes, I know. If I didn't have a war on my hands, I'd take a little trip to Randolph's pack and see what trouble he's stirring up now."

As Alpha King, it is my job to keep an eye on the Alphas. For the most part, I stay out of their business. But when they start fights with other Alphas, abuse pack members or are not following proper protocols for mates, I get involved. Alpha Randolph is a prime example of this, but unfortunately, no one will come forth to admit his wrong doings. I am judge, jury and executioner, but cannot go on whisperings.

There are 50 packs in my kingdom. Ranging from large to small, with about 20,000 wolves total. My own pack is only about 300 wolves strong. Most of those being hand picked warriors from across the kingdom. Of course, there are kingdom officials, like doctors, treasurers, lawmakers, etc.

And then there's my close confidants. My beta, Nick, who is unmated. Gamma Alexandra with her mate Rachel. Delta Ethan with his mate Mariah.

These are the people who keep me sane and more importantly, keep the kingdom running alongside me.

Nick is the more administrative role in my life. Who keeps reminding me every hour of the upcoming Alpha meeting, that I would much rather ignore. I'd much rather just take all the warriors of the land and lead the army into war myself instead of dealing with bullshit politics between the Alphas.

But apparently, that would be very undiplomatic of me.

There's a knock at the door to my office, pulling me away from my thoughts.

Nick opens to the door to see Lee, one of our most trusted warriors.

"I just wanted to inform you that the invitation to the Rogue King was delivered. It was given to one of his pack members. If you can call them that." Lee informs us. He bows his head and then leaves.

"Guess they aren't really rogues if they are a pack", Nick chuckles.

"What are the odds of the Rogue King showing up, you think?" I said, with a smirk. A bet is coming up.

"I bet you $100 he shows" Nick states.

"I'll take that bet" I said smugly. I always win.

"And, I bet he is nothing what we expect."

"Ha! You are asking to lose that money!" I say with a laugh.

"No, I've just really got a feeling something interesting is going to happen..." Nick trails off in thought.

"What are you psychic now, Nick? Let's go to the training ground before Alex yells at us." We head out to the training fields.

While Nick is the administrative role, Alexandra (Alex) is the lead warrior and trainer. She rightfully earned that title with many challenges fought, in both human and wolf form.

Nick is just as impressive as a warrior, but his brains far out do most werewolves. That's why he is Beta. Why Alex is Gamma.

Ethan is Delta. Ethan is like a public services official. He and Mariah are in charge of making sure people of the kingdom are taken care of on a normal every day level. Are the schools good? Are crops doing well?

Now, you're probably wondering, then what the fuck do you do, Henry?

Good question.

I control the Alphas when they get out of line. I have to delegate with other species, which is what mostly occupies my time. Somewhere along the lines, other species made the Werewolf King referee to all their problems. Who decided that? Don't know, but I want to bring them back from the grave to kill them.

And when there's serious problems, everyone looks to me.

So when this group of Vamps starts fucking around and killing my wolves, we have a problem.

And I'm going to fix this problem real soon.
