Chapter 3: Sleeping Arrangements.

"You're joking right?" I stomped my foot angrily at the prince. Sleeping in the same chambers!? Absolutely unacceptable! I didn't care if it was safer, I would not bed with the prince.

"Princess. I will not argue." The prince gave me a tired look. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see that the chamber door was slightly open. I slightly shifted my weight to the other foot, preparing to sprint for my way out of here. The prince gave me a look like he knew what I was going to do and smirked. He was preparing for the chase. Personally, I didn't believe there was going to be much of a chase. I slowly shuffled towards the door.

"I dare you, my princess. This chase will be more entertaining than the first!" he smirked and prepared to sprint after my small frame. I yanked the chamber door open and ran as fast as my small legs would carry me. Guards watched, engrossed in our little game. Vlad rushed for me and I stopped dead in my tracks. To my dismay, he was prepared for this. I dodged his arms and grasped his right one and twisted it so that he was caught with one arm behind his back.

"Well done, my princess." He praised me, but as fast as lightning, he untwisted his arm and had me in an iron grip. All his men applauded and chanted his name. One even had the nerve to tell him to bed me! I picked him out of the crowd and immediately stared him down. I could hear the audible gulp over the roars and cheers. I tore myself away from Vlad and ran as if my life depended on it.

I'm not just something a man could play with.

No woman is.

I could hear Vlad's thunderous steps trekking after me. I ignored them and ran for the nearest room. Making as little noise as possible, I hid within a room he had never showed me. It held a small cradle and a china doll. I lightly ran my finger over the glass of the doll. It was beautiful.

"It was something to pass down to my daughter." I almost screamed from the surprise. How did he catch me so fast? How'd he know where I was? I ignored the questions buzzing in my head and continued looking about the small room.

"All this is to be passed down to my children." He sighed and took a seat in a wooden chair located at the left corner of the room.

I could barely see his features. His pale skin was illuminated, but his midnight locks blended in with the darkness of the room. As did mine. I slowly walked over to his quite large stature and grasped his hand in mine. I felt his warm lips plant a soft kiss on my hand. A small smile appeared on both our faces.

"My princess, shall we rest?" He asked quietly. I was too exhausted to argue. I slowly nodded my head and let him lead me to the chamber I would reside in with my future husband. I watched the maids uneasily as the pulled corset and skirt off of me and slipped a night gown over my slim figure. I walked into the bedroom and saw Vlad with his long raven hair tied back, sipping red wine. More than likely the finest. He set the glass down to turn and smile at me. He was in his night clothes as well. Vlad rose from his seat, grasped my small hand, and led us to the bed. Slowly he lifted me into his arms and laid me onto our bed. It was warm and soft. I immediately snuggled into the pillows and comforters. Vlad chuckled and climbed into the bed next to me. His arms encircled my waist, they fit perfectly. I laid my head on his chest and lightly planted a kiss on his neck. I felt him shiver and hold me tighter. I smiled softly and closed my eyes. Next thing I knew, I was sleeping like the dead.
