It had been ten minutes since the last lunch bell rang and Sam still continued her search for kayla. Frustration filled her thoughts as she desperately scanned her eyes through the cafeteria.
She did not want to eat lunch alone. Sam refused to eat alone. Sam wanted this year to be a good year, and hated the idea of starting it with eating lunch alone. She looked over to who she could potentially sit with. In the corner were the goths.
They were stabbing their food with their forks like murderers stab victims and Sam immediately passed on the idea of sitting with them. There were also the blonde's sitting together whose painful shriekely voices could be heard across the damn earth.
"Fuck" Sam muttered under her breath as she realized her options were limited. With a final decision, Sam sat at a table alone, as she gave up looking for kayla. Suddenly, questions ran through her head.
Did kayla not like her?. Did kayla know people at her old school?. The worst possibilities started running through her mind as she recieved a bad feeling in her gut.
With a light touch on her shoulder, Sam flinched up , vanishing her thoughts. To her gratitude, it was kayla. "KAYLA, omg I thought you ditched me"!
Kayla scoffed. "Babe, I'd never ditch your beautiful face". "I'm not that beautiful", sam blushed. Kayla gasped. "Are you kidding me Sam, do you not see how guys look at you?. You're god damn gorgeous and you better believe that". It felt good to Sam to hear such a compliment from kayla, and she couldn't help but smile.
"Oh by the way sorry I was late I was talking to Jordan, who is a cute guy", Kayla stated winking. Sam's eyes went wild. "Tell me more". Kayla smirked before continuing."Well I don't know what your plans is tonight, but Jordan is hosting a party tonight and like the entire school is gonna be there"!. Sam and Kayla both squealed together and agreed that not going to this party would be against the law.
As Sam and Kayla discussed the hottest possible outfits and the best colours on each other, kayla interrupted the conversation with a cough.
"What",? Sam questioned. "Hottie at 3 o clock looking at you", Kayla replied. Sam turned her head and scanned her eyes. Her eyes widened as she discovered who the hottie was. Trent. He was just staring at her. He sat with his friends, and as soon as their eyes locked, he didn't look away. Trent looked intimidating as always.
He looked challenging, holding onto her gaze. Sam's eyes were glued to his, and although she tried to break the trance that their eyes was caught in, she just couldn't for some unknown reason. It scared her. The unbreakable attraction she felt for him.
It felt like decades had passed by when Trent finally looked away and continued talking to his friends. Sam was left with confusion. She didn't understand him one bit. For little split seconds, he makes her feel that maybe, just maybe, he had a connection to her, even if it was slight.
As for the rest of the majority of the time, he leaves her feeling like an annoyance. Someone he can't stand. Sam was angered. "You can't just treat someone like that", she thought. "What was that staring contest about"? Kayla questioned. Sam shook her head. "I honestly have no idea, but do you ever think Gangs can be affectionate" Sam stated randomly. "I think I know what's going on, kayla winked. Sam stared at her incredulously.
"No, god no, I don't like Trent if that's what your thinking. Kayla put her hand up to quiet Sam before continuing. "I know your just saying that because you know that it's bad to like him, but I know you can't deny how incredibly hot he is." Sam started laughing hysterically as kayla moaned Trent's name, and desperately tried to hush her as she saw Trent glance at her. Sam didn't think Trent had heard, but she was wrong, because soon after he got up and left the table with his friends, he made his way over towards them.
"Shit", both kayla and Sam said in unison. "Are you guys talking about me"? Trent demanded angrily. "Uhm no, we were talking about another Trent, in California, who happens to be my cousin", sam said nervously. "Your cousin", Trent stated doubtedly.
"Yeah what a coincidence", Kayla laughed and smiled nervously.Trent pointed at Sam and glared. "You know your something else Sam, and I don't like it. I especially don't like when people talk behind my back."
Sam moved backwards slightly as Trent pointed at her and quoted harsh remarks. Sam apologized, then recieved another glare from Trent before he walked away.
Both Sam and Kayla burst into laughter once the Cafeteria was clear of Trent. "OMG", Sam quoted ecstatically. "I can't believe you moaned his name".
"Well babe, I was just stating what happens when you and Trent are gonna get together in the bedroom". Kayla wriggled her eyebrows as a symbol for hot sex. Sam began laughing so hard tears began to fall out of her eyes.
"More like if me and Trent ended up in the same room together, we'd probably kill ourselves or each other before any loving can happen", sam truthfully stated.
Kayla put on a serious face. "Real talk though, I heard Trent is going to be at Jordan's party"
Suddenly Sam went from being excited for the party to getting a bad feeling in her gut about the party. Kayla recognized Sam's nervous expression and reassured her that everything was going to be fine. "Oh and what was that about between Trent coming up to you", Kayla added.
Shaking her head, sam stated the truth. "I don't know Kayla"."I don't know".
