Daniel Tiger and The Lion King

Chapter 9

[The scene transitions to the jungle. Timon and Pumbaa are fast asleep. Pumbaa lies on his back, while Timon rests on Pumbaa's belly.]

Timon & Pumbaa:*snores*

Pumbaa:[muttering in his sleep] Grubs, grubs...

Timon & Pumbaa:*snores*

Nala:Nala approaches and pokes Timon.] Hey. Hey, wake up.

{Timon wakes up and see a huge lion face in his view. He starts screaming and Pumbaa joins in.}

Nala: It's OK. Whoa, whoa. It's OK. It's ME.

Timon & Pumbaa:*sighs in relief*

Timon: [Timon walks across Pumbaa's snout and belly toward Nala.] Don't ever do that again. [Timon turns away, holding his forehead in exasperation.] Carnivores. Oy!

Nala: Have you guys seen Simba or Daniel Tiger and the others?

Timon: {Holding a hand to his head} I thought they were with you.

Nala:They were, but now I can't find them. Where are they?

Rafiki:[from offscreen] Ho, ho, ho! [Rafiki sits in the branches of a nearby tree.] You won't find them here. Haha. The king... has returned.

Nala: I can't believe it. [Nala's eyes widen.] They're gone back.

Timon: [Timon hops off Pumbaa and looks up at Rafiki.] Gone back? What do you mean? [Rafiki has mysteriously disappeared.] Hey! What's goin' on here? [Timon gestures at where Rafiki was sitting.] Who's the monkey?

Nala: Simba's gone to challenge Scar.

Timon: Who?

Nala: Scar.

Pumbaa:[Pumbaa tilts his head questioningly.] Who's got a scar?

Nala: {Shaking head} No, no, no. It's his uncle.

Timon: The monkey's his uncle?

Nala:[Pumbaa approaches and sits next to Timon.] No! Simba's gone back to challenge his uncle to take his place as king.

Timon and Pumbaa: Ohhh.

[The scene transitions to the desert.Simba,Daniel Tiger,O the Owl, Katerina Kittycat, Prince

Wednesday, and  Miss Elaina runs across the sand toward the Pride Lands.They arrives to find that their homeland has become a desolate ruin, with skeletons lying everywhere. They looks around sadly, then climbs onto a ridge with a full view of Pride Rock. He glares in its direction.]

Daniel Tiger: So Scar and the hyenas destroyed Pride Lands after Simba and I left?

O the Owl: Yes They Did Daniel Tiger.

Daniel Tiger: I hope my parents and my sister are alright.

Nala:[from offscreen] Guys! [They look over one shoulder.] Wait up! [Nala sidles up next to Simba,Daniel Tiger And  friends. ] It's awful, isn't it?

Simba: Daniel Tiger and I didn't want to believe you.

Nala: What made you come back?

Simba:I finally got some sense knocked into me, [Simba jerks upward with his chin.] and I've got the bump to prove it. Besides, this is my kingdom. [Simba draws himself up to his full height and stares at the Pride Lands.] If I don't fight for it, who will?

Nala:[Nala approaches.] I will.

Daniel Tiger: All of us will Simba!

O the Owl:We'll stick by your side.
