Yo just had a talk with my homophobic, transphobic ( literally if it has anything about girls/guys/people going out of the gender norms he hates it ) father about how haircuts don't have genders! My older sister cuts her hair super short kinda like

This. And every time she cuts her hair again and she leaves the room he says something like 'She looks like a boy' or 'your mom let her cut her hair like that?' And it ticks me off.
(My older sister wasn't with us this weekend she had work) So today we went to a new taco place and I'm eating my nachos and he goes 'did you cut your hair?' And I said 'yeah' cause me and my siblings got our hair cut Thursday. ( ive literally spent a whole a$$ day with him and he just now brings it up 🙄)
He says 'it's cute' and I say thank you. He goes on to say 'I'm glad you got a girly haircut' I swear to goodness someone possessed me because I usually laugh this type of stuff off. I say 'well, haircuts don't really have genders' he laughs and says 'yeah they do' I say 'no they dont, there are just some haircuts that are more worn by men or women'
My father says 'they have genders' imma bout to pop off but I say 'hair does not have any gentles to differentiate them so anybody can do what they want with their hair' ( I didn't want to have a screaming match so I dodged the non-binary part but I do recognize you bbys don't worry) he rolls his eyes and says ' I'm not mad at you I'm just upset that your teachers brainwashed you' And I say ' my teachers don't even talk about this stuff, I believe what I want to believe and so can you. You can have your own opinion but this is where I stand' and as soon as I think the conversation is over he says something along the lines of 'you know stuff like that is going to destroy us right?' And I can only assume he meant lgbtq+ destroying the freaking country but that's bullsh*t
People need to get their heads out of their a$$es and freaking accept that people aren't going to go by their form of 'normal' or 'right'. People need to realize that weather or not they like the same things as you or look different than you that they are still people and deserve to be recognized as a part of our society and to quit shunning them and shaming them.
People need to realize that their form of 'right' is toxic and need to stop hurting others. People need to realize that their are so many types of people out there that are uncomfortable walking in the streets because the world says they are disgusting and revolting. There are people out there being killed because they do not fit the mold of someone's form of 'right' there are people being killed because they are trying to make a difference and to help others feel accepted in this worlds fu*ked up society.
If you are taking part in any type of bullying or if you hate someone for their race/sexuality/religion etc. You need to check yourself because what you are doing is taking lives, whether or not you are doing it yourself. People commit suicide because they don't feel loved, because people keep telling them they are worthless, because they keep getting sh*t from everyone for being different. Even if what they are doing isn't wrong, even if they've done nothing wrong and that's absolutely revolting.
This world need to fu*king get a hold of itself and accept that people are different. Because everyone deserves to be recognized as a human being and not as some f*cking filth. It's because of people like my father that I can't ever feel comfortable in my own skin because he has a sick sense of integrity. Of course he doesn't say it to my face but every time I'm at his house and binging a show and eating a bag of chips he looks at me in a way that makes me feel small and pathetic. Every time I wear shorts all I can think about is how my dad said my stretch marks needed to be healed. You can't fu*king heal stretch marks.
Okay so that was my rant, don't worry tho. I only see my biological dad on the weekends so it's all good. Remember you are beautiful and if you ever need someone to talk to you can come to me. It might take me awhile to respond tho but I'll get there when I can!
