Michael and Nick could barely keep their hands off each other the whole way home. And who could blame them? Michael Nigro was tall, thin, blonde, and had the body of a god. Nick liked to use the quote from Hannah Montana to describe him: “He’s a hottie Lammati with a swimmer’s body.” Nick Wellerstein was also tall and thin, but he had dark brown hair, the kind that turned black when wet. Nick was not muscular like Michael, but he was not scrawny either. Needless to say, they were both very attractive and very attracted to each other.

Between the mix of their attracted-ness and the life changing event that had just occurred, they both were acting like little kids. Nick couldn't believe what had happened. It was so unreal. He had an engagement band on his finger. From Michael. It was mind boggling for him. But he didn’t mind at all.

They finally made it to a subway stop and pulled out their Metro Cards and got on the subway home. During the ride, Michael decided he was going hang from the pole in the middle of the aisle. Hoping to get a rise out of Nick he began to spin around a stripper and make sexual noises. His arms were bulging and all nick could do was stare. Michael used to wrestle so his muscles were very toned. Finally, Nick realized they were in a public place and people were beginning to stare.

Nick rolled his eyes at him and laughed nervously.

“Okay Mimi! Get off the pole!”

Michael didn’t care that people were staring. He fell from the pole and grimaced like he had been shot by an arrow.

“Ooh, you got me! Rent references are my weakness!’ he said, sarcastically.

Nick rolled his eyes again and laughed. Michael turned over on his stomach, pulling his legs behind him, crawled over to Nick and rested his head on Nick’s knee.

“Am I embarrassing you, honey?” Michael said, winking.

        “Not at all.”

Nick grabbed the collar of Michael’s jacket and pulled him up for a kiss.

“Easy there, tiger.” Michael winked. “We’re in public remember?”

They barely got through the front door before Michael was kissing Nick all over.

        "I love you", he said.

        "I love you too."

And with that Michael attacked Nick with another kiss as he reached behind him and closed the door. They stumbled toward the couch, lips still locked. They took off each other’s coats and slipped off their shoes. Michael pushed Nick against the wall and snuck his tongue in.

Nick was melting, as was Michael. Nick began to unbutton his shirt, when the phone rang.

“What a cock block!” Michael said.

        “Language!!” Nick said, laughing.

The phone continued to ring and Nick gave Michael a quick kiss, and then ran into the kitchen to answer the phone. Michael went upstairs to the bedroom.

Nick ran to the phone and picked it up.

“Hello? Oh hey grandma… yea totally… she is?... oh... is she okay?...oh...well tell her I love her…alrighty… love you… bye.”

Nick hung up the phone and walked upstairs to their bedroom.  He found Michael in his pajama pants, taking his dress shirt off.

"Oh, hey. Was that your mom?"

Nick walked over to the dresser and got his pajamas.

        "No, it was my grandma."

        "Oh. What did she say?"

Nick looked up at Michael, his eyes full of tears.

“My mom is not doing well.”

Nick began to cry and fell into Michael’s arms. Michael wrapped his arms around Nick’s body and rubbed his back.

“Shh… everything’s gonna be okay, Nick. I promise.”

“Michael, I don’t want to lose my mom.”

“I know she’s sick, but you can’t always think the negative. What if it’s just a virus?”

        “I’m just scared.”

“And it’s okay to be…. Listen, don’t think about it tonight. Put on your pajamas. I’m gonna go lock up the apartment.”

Michael kissed Nick’s cheek and left the room. Nick looked at his reflection in the dresser mirror and wiped his tears. He stripped down and got in his lounge wear, while Michael locked up and set the security alarms and turned off the lights. As Michael was walking back in the bedroom, Nick was about to put his shirt on when he walked up behind him and grabbed his waist. Nick turned around and kissed Michael firmly on the lips and everything was okay.

They pulled the covers on the bed back and got in the bed. Once they got settled, Michael reached over and turned off the lamp. Nick gave him a kiss,

        “Goodnight, babe”

        “Goodnight.”
